The Escape was my first... by Islandlife515

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

The Escape was my first cruise and I couldnt have picked a better ship for my first. She is huge, so there are a lot of stairs to climb if you dont like waiting on an elevator. Its all worth the extra steps though. We loved the food and the spa passes. Could have done without the smoke smell on floors 6,7 and 8 but its not enough to keep me from going again. Go to an art auction. Its fun. Go to a game in the atrium. Get room service and book a balcony if you can. Drink coffee and eat breakfast on your balcony. Use the upper decks for sunbathing if you want quiet. Get spa passes!

Good cruise by norwegianescape

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Enjoyed 90% so you can't complain the food entertainment all good standard and staff all seem to work hard trying to keep a large number customers happy.i personally would not travel on the above mentioned ship 🚢 only reason being to Big and far to many people on board, but this certainly would not stop me from traveling with Norwegian again just on a smaller scale.

Ship: Norwegian Escape

Went in Nov 2017, first NCL cruise. Loved this ship and staff. The only negative was fine dining room during the day had the same menu EVERY DAY!!! 😔. I am not much of a buffet person and with the hustle and bustle of life would have enjoyed a different menu each day for lunch!

First, BEST cruise experience ever! by Jhaar789

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Caribbean - Western

If you are nervous about a cruise, don't be! It is the best you will ever experience. 7 days is a good time, and I wish I was back again. It can be pricey, but once you get on board, you understand why you spend that much, and every penny counts! Norwegian Escape is the BEST.

Wonderful ship, staff, entertainment, dining,... by alessiaroberts

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

Wonderful ship, staff, entertainment, dining, and the comfortable beds! The embarkation was a breeze, along with departure. Staff was wonderful and helpful. Met a lot of cool people from around the world, too! If you choose to go on the ship, just remember THESE 5 TIPS BY ALESSIA! 1) Do the ropes course. So much fun! On most of our sea days, it was either closed due to wind or extremely crowded. I’d recommend doing it while at a port or right before it closes. Work up to courage to walk the plank! You won’t regret it, as it is a very unique experience. 2) Teppanyaki!! I hope I spelled that right... anyways, all I can say is that this is the best Japanese food I have ever had in my life. I really do recommend the meat, as it was cooked perfectly! The chefs are amazing, entertaining, and very talented at what they do. This was 101% worth the price. But be wary, BOOK AT LEAST A WEEK OUT. They fill up really fast! 3) Waterslides So much fun! There were a total of about 5 waterslides. The first one is the yellow body slide. It was very slow, sometimes you had to push yourself down. Kids love it, so whatever! The second one is the pink kids slide in the splash pad. This slide is a hidden gem, although it is very short. It has a great drop at the end and gives you a little rush. Sneak in there and try it, you’ll love it. The third slide was the Aqua Racer, aka the blue tube slide. This slide was AMAZING. The line moved very quickly, and the slide itself was awesome. On the inside was a cool light show, and even a clear section revealing you water sliding over the ocean. You have to be at least 42 inches tall to ride this one, just a tip for the kiddos. The fourth and fifth ones are the Aqua Loop. These slides are terrifying! You stand in a capsule, and the floor drops, sending you plummeting down the water slide. There was never a line for this, so the anticipation isn’t that bad. You have to work up the courage to do it! It makes you feel brave, and plus it’s a super fun slide in the end. 4) The Pools and Pooldeck You’d think with a large ship, there would be many pools, right? Nope. There are only two pools, and they are not very big. One of them isn’t even open for people under 18. I noticed the teenagers were just kicking around the edge of the pool, wanting to swim. The other pool was the hectic kids pool, which was packed to it’s capacity with small children, leaving the older kids hanging. That’s a big downside to the ship that I found. Observations made about the pool deck: the lounge chairs are gone very quickly, it is VERY VERY loud, it is extremely crowded, and there aren’t enough spots in the shade. A hidden gem we found was the sun deck. It was quieter, less crowds, a cool water mister, two undiscovered hot tubs offering an amazing view, and many chairs available. Additionally, there was a bar up there with very little traffic. Highly recommend that. 5) Entertainment After Midnight was awesome! It featured a talented cast of singers and dancers, however, the show was very long for having no plot. It went from number to number for an hour and a half long. The kids got really bored of it after awhile. Additionally, do check out the comedians at 7:00 pm, they’re hilarious and perfect for the family! You could go to two of their shows, and not one joke would be repeated. Another thing we liked was the ‘Escape the Big Top’ game in the Supper Club. It was like an escape room, except a magician places a spell on you and forgets how to make you reappear. He then makes you solve the puzzle to find the magic words. SUPER FUN AND CHALLENGING! Do it, you won’t be disappointed!

Awesome NCL Western Caribbean Anniversary Cruise by aniv20cruise

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our first cruise since our honeymoon 20 years ago. This was for our anniversary and well worth the wait. We did put down a cruise-next deposit so we'll be back on NCL in the future! The Escape is a great ship with a lot to do. The ship did not seem overly crowded when we went. There were still chairs available on the top decks mid to late morning.

Cannot wait for our next cruise. The best thing about cruising is chilling with someone you love. Don’t rush, the boat is the best part of your vacation.

The Escape was my first... by CaptSteveD

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

The Escape was my first NCL Cruise. All in all won’t bash it but won’t applaud it either. Beautiful vessel and Balcony stateroom was fantastic. Entertainment was below par, food was average at best. Layout of the common spaces among the decks was disappointing. Stateroom stewards and staff encountered very pleasant and attentive.

Ship: Norwegian Escape

LOVED this ship! There was so much to do and it was impeccably kept. My fiancé and I were never bored. We loved every minute of it. The ship was big enough to not feel crowded at all and there were always new places to explore, but it wasn’t so big you couldn’t find your way around.

My husband and I sailed... by Shawnette

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

My husband and I sailed on this ship Nov 11-18. From beginning to end the staff were friendly amd helpful. Cruise Director was funny. Kudos to the bartenders as we got the all inclusive drink package. The only disappointing thing was that we didnt get to do all 3 inclusive dining package as most times the restuarants were completly booked. We were only able to do 1. I enjoyed the ports. We had been Cayman and Nassau before so in Cayman we had lunch and walked around and Nassau we did a tour of the western side of the island which we have never seen. Falmouth amd Costa Maya were a real eye opener. We did not do any of the tours but opted to do a tour ourselves of course with a guide. Looking forward to our next cruise.

This was just our second... by tlamon25

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

This was just our second cruise. Both cruises were with Norwegian. On our first cruise our ship was the NCL Epic me and my family of 5 stayed in connecting balcony suites. This time on the NCL Escape me and my wife decided to step it up so we booked a 2 bedroom family suite in the Haven. This was awesome. When we arrived at the port we went to a private check in area to receive our key cards after that we were escorted straight to the haven were we meet our concierge then we went to see our cabin which was second to none. This was a clean ship with excellent service and great food. If it is in your budget I would definitely recommend that you try the haven and trust me once you try the haven you will not leave the haven.

Out of 12 cruises this... by mbet15

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

Out of 12 cruises this was the nicest ship I've been on. It's beautiful. Most other things were meh though. After midnight was great but the other entertainment options were very disappointing. The fact that this ship only has one small pool was also an odd design choice. There's a second pool in the haven area but you have to pay a premium price to access it. As a vegetarian the food was very disappointing. I've been on 12 cruises and this by far had the worst vegetarian food on it. Strange because my last Norwegian cruise three years ago had the best vegetarian food. On more than one night there was no vegetarian appetizer other than three types of similar salads. Another night, there was only one salad as a choice. The last night of the cruise there was no entrée choice other than the single pasta option. There were many dishes in the menus that you'd think would be vegetarian, like potato gnocchi, but I was told they weren't. The limited selection continued over into the other restaurants as well. If you're a vegetarian expect to live off of veggie burgers (careful because they gave me two turkey burgers even I asked for vegetarian!), Indian food, and pizza. The excursions are priced extremely high, which is typical of a cruise I suppose. But, some of the exact same excursions are priced twice that of those found on carnival. The salsa and salsa excursion costs $120 pp on this ship. It's $60 pp on carnival. I'd say use trip advisor and book excursions on your own. You can't go wrong with Mr Sanchos I'd you're visiting cozumel Shops on the ship are also the worst that I've seen. Most of it is watches, perfume, and high end jewelry. Also, the air horn they constantly use in the shows on the ship is annoying as f****.

Had a great time on NCL Escape 11/4-11/11. Food, service, and drinks were great. Kids had a lot of fun on the slides, pools, and sports deck. The Escape is a beautiful ship. It was our first NCL cruise and we can’t wait for the next one.

We were on the Norwegian... by JAGlove

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

We were on the Norwegian Escape last week. We had a wonderful time. Our room steward was awesome. All the staff were very friendly. Always something to do. The food was great. You can literally eat 24 hours a day. My kids enjoyed the teen lounge and splash academy. One down side only one main pool near stage. Get there early in the morning to get lounge chairs. There was another pool near the water slides for kids and adults. However only one main pool. Did the ropes course and mini golf. The first two ports it rained but it was ok. We did rent a golf cart in costa maya and went to a beach. We got 30.00 massages right on beach. It was awesome. There are some pushy vendors but just tell them no thank you and most of them will leave you alone. Only a few were overbearing. A few tips for future cruisers. Take a water bottle. You can fill it at the beverage stations. Get to pool area early. Go to the comedy shows in headliners bar. They are all complimentary. o Sheehan’s is a complimentary restaurant and was really good too. Relax and go with the flow. The first day on the ship is a little crazy until rooms are ready. Only other complaint is elevators take awhile going up and down. We tried to use the stairs a lot.

Ship: Norwegian Escape

Great ship, great staff, just didn't get any towel animals in room, wife was sad. LOL, we had a great 1st time on a Norwegian ship. The only thing we didn't like was the cigarette smoke from casino was taking over certain parts of the decks below and above. Couldn't eat at any near by restaurants smell was too much.
