Overall a good cruise. NCL needs to update the staff (or have more of them) enhance traffic flow and stop nickel and diming passengers
Embarkation
1 out of 5
We boarded and were ushered to the cafe along with 4600+ passengers not enough seating and rooms were not ready NCL gave us a boarding time and they did not meet their own expectation
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Service was good and most meals were tasty, but there were a few misses
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Love the mini golf and so wanted to ride the slide but it was too cold Got to use the fitness center and it was clean and had great views of the water
Entertainment
2 out of 5
Due to not being able to attend shows as they were at capacity was not a happiness... We did look forward to seeing Choir of Man and the show was cancelled due to high seas
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
No Towel art, came to the room did the bare essentials. Waiters seemed to be short handed for the amount of people on board. Hand sanitizer could be found all over the ship but not any moisturizer for dried out hands from the sanitizer
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Public areas were well maintained
Cabin / Stateroom

room size was fine... Sink had issues getting hot water but the shower was fine
Ship tip
be prepared It is crowded with no good crowd control... Reserve everything in advance
Thanks for sharing! As someone who has sailed 7 different lines and almost 30 cruises under my belt, I 100% think there is room for improvement! My mom, sister, and I sailed just last week and had a really good time overall; however the embarkation & disembarkation was abysmal! In addition, for the first time I didn’t upgrade my drink and internet package. This was a mistake, as a simple French or Espresso martini had an $8.40 upcharge after gratuities and none of my iPhone features worked (FaceTime or iMessage). In addition, the bar service at most venues was very slow. Again, we had a good time overall AND there is room for improvement.
We enjoy ncl cruises. Unsure what about the nickle and diming. We have not seen that. We saw nickle and diming more on other cruise lines.
Towel animals are more of a Carnival thing. We have gotten them upon request on ncl and other lines.
As others have said, you don’t get a boarding time. You get a time to arrive at the pier and check in. If you want a shorter wait, pick a later check in time and you get to board as soon as you’re checked in. You can also have lunch in one of the dining rooms on the first day, skip the buffet. You can also survive the entire cruise without spending an additional dime.
I was on the same cruise, didn't experience any of those issues. Lots of places to eat/ hang out till rooms were ready. Staff was very good. We had lotion in our room, never have seen it around the ship like the post mentioned. Saw all the shows, even if it was full, they always let in stand by lines. Don't feel nickel and dimed, don't but it or participate. Had a great cruise, nothing too complain about here!
NCL doesn’t give a boarding time. They give you a check-in time. You board whenever your group is called. Haven and loyalty program passengers get priority. You don’t have to eat at the buffet. You can eat at Osheehan’s or the main dining room, both of which are sit-down. As for “nickel and dime” business, that’s common to EVERY cruise line. If you don’t want to spend extra, then don’t. I never do, except for thermal suite sometimes. But that’s my decision.
