Sorry you didn’t enjoy your cruise, we loved the Escape. Some cabins say they can sleep up to 4 but that usually means they put 4 people in the same size cabin that 2 or 3 people would get (using Pullman, sofa bed etc) and you get a reduced fare for the 3rd and 4th passengers, it’s not like they can give you a bigger cabin so that everyone has lots of room. We go max 3 in a cabin for this reason.
