Review summary

Relaxing, if you find an uncrowded area. The crew is working very hard with minimal staff.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
We chose 1130 checkin. Be prepared for the crowd!!! The porters will take your luggage, make sure to tag them. Take paper ticket or electronic ticket and have it easily accessible with your ID. It truly is a hurry up and wait. The luggage made it to room around 4pm. Overhead announcements will tell you when rooms are ready, by deck levels.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining ate in Manhattan Room 3 times. We were part of 14 in group so everyone made reservations ahead of time. Specialty dining: Cagneys was wonderful. Husband ordered prime rib but it was very tough. They made it right and he had filet mignon instead. Teppanyaki was entertaining and food was tasty. Buffet areas had nice assortment and the circulating waiters/busboy were constantly clearing tables. The coffee was horrible, bitter stuff. Drink station was crowded and always busy as there is one per side. Recommend getting drinks first, finding table, then get food. They won't clear table with this setup. If you prefer sweet n low, bring it as they have equal and Splenda

Onboard Activities

Played Bamboozled and bingo. Mandara spa was well worth the cost. Quiet and calm. Heated loungers were my favorite. Fell asleep twice on it.

Entertainment

Choir of Man....great show! We had reservations but it appeared all the standby line made it in.

Service and Staff

Everyone worked to make your cruise experience the best.

Ship Quality

10,000 steps or more each day! I found the main areas clean. The staff were constantly cleaning up after passengers left cups, plates, or napkins in public areas

Cabin / Stateroom

Plenty of storage Take magnetic hooks Ask for coffee pot Bring your own coffee pods Bring clothes pins for the line in shower

Ship tip

Reserve tender to GSC early. Oce there, go past the first areas toward the zipline tower to find less crowded beach. Take bug spray to GSC as the sand mites really bite!!! Check your intranet minutes daily and keep phone on airplane mode. Our magnetic door sign was removed, but others were allowed to stay. Go figure. Don't stay on deck 15 midship if chlorine smell is irritating to you. Pool is above you and heavily chlorinated. We liked Spice H2O, which is closed to children til 7pm. It has 2 hot tubs and grotto rain shower. Boxed water is NOT included with beverage/drink package. If you can afford the thermal spa, Do It!

Ports of call

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Twice as nice catamaran. Not much time to actually be in the water to snorkel as the trip transit, walking and waiting to board catamaran took a while.

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

Walked the port, no excursion. Always double count change. I got ripped off at DelSol store.

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Make little pompoms or something to distinguish your luggage! Then these are grouped together. Pay the porter, which was well worth the $ to get through customs quickly. Disembark is by color group. You will wait in common areas, as your room is being overturned for next group of cruisers, while you are waiting to leave.
