A few irritations but it was a great vacation. The in person mustar drill is completely unnecessary and left a bad taste in my mouth.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
A lot of people, but the line moves fast. Really disappointing that we had to do an in person mustar drill.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We only ate at the included dining options and they were all great quality food and great service.. Some of the desserts were bland but the nice thing about cruising is if you don't like it, get something else.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We enjoyed bingo and the game shows when we were able to find a seat. More on that later.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We saw the comedy shows, the magic show, Divas3 and Choir of Man. All were great but I felt Choir of Man was a bit over hyped. The live bands, in particular Blue Travelers, were also very good.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
I've heard people say the NCL crew don't seem as happy as they used to but I didn't notice anything like that. The service was top notch.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
My biggest complaint with the Escape is how hard it is to get into a show. The Atrium is WAY too small for how popular some of the games shows are. The ship needs bigger venues. I also found it frustrating that we had to book shows in person on boarding day. We couldn't do it through the app or the touchscreens.
Also, they have an adult pool and a kiddie pool. Where are the teenagers supposed to go if they want to hang out in a pool. I would find a different ship if you are sailing with teenagers.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The cabin was kept clean and the once a day service didn't bother me at all.
Ship tip
Wash your hands people. I couldn't believe how many men didn't wash after using the restroom and the number of people who walked into the buffet without washing or using hand sanitizer and then going to get food. My wife and I both came home sick.
Thanks for the review, any ship requires the muster drill. Sorry to hear you were sick, friends of ours got covid from the ship they were on but they never sanitized which I don’t get cause Covid is still here, looking forward to our cruise in March.
