Review summary

Husband said this was the first and last cruise with Norwegian in a long time

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Great experience with embarkation despite major crowd boarding this cruise

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Food was great even in buffet and we did pay extra for Vibe where bartender Charlie literally saved the cruise for us because of overbooked ship and long waits at other bars

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Waterside was alot of fun but very crowded on sea days Also could not get into pool due to crowd

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Performers were great but again shows that we could get into were very crowded One club with rock theme we tried all week and never got into and Howl at the Moon we finally figured out to go between 11:30 pm and 1 am to get in

Children's Programs

Not sailing with grandson on this trip

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff were all friendly and service was great with exception of not getting coffee we asked for after dinner even in Cagneys specialty dining

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Ship was always clean - elevators were horrible with the number of people on this cruise We often climbed the 6 or 7 floors to get to dining and entertainment from our stateroom

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Extra balcony space and steward kept clean

Ship tip

Pay the extra for the Vibe and do not plan on using pools with the amount they overbooked. Also pre paid and booked excursions Ours disappeared when we boarded and we had no resolution talking to excursion desk We had an email with an excursion reservation confirmation from five days before we sailed and were told that was not a REAL confirmation. And nothing else was available. It was only beach planned except cruise lines private island which was canceled after we were dressed and ready to go

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

1 out of 5
Departure was torture from here We walked through entire terminal to where our bags were thrown over several rows of luggage and we had to squeeze through hoardes of other passengers trying to find their luggage Then leaving the garage was a nightmare We waited over 45 minutes to get out of the terminal parking

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

4 out of 5

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

4 out of 5

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

2 out of 5
This is where our only excursion was canceled and we ended up walking through small cruise port and to town shopping area which was very crowded and not impressive

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

1 out of 5
We were really looking forward to this since it would be the only beach experience we would get with excursion problems earlier in week but were disappointed when it was announced seas were unsafe to tender to island We later found out this happens alotbat Great Sturrup Cay We were packed for beach and went to eat breakfast when captain announced it would be another sea day

Disembarkation

Nightmare

Ships can’t be overbooked, that would mean they don’t have cabins for all the guests. It may have been full, that’s not unexpected. Also remember, maximum occupancy is determined by each cabin having two people in it. So if maximum is 4000, you can easily have many more people when parties have additional people in rooms.

Going in May and booked Vibe just to know we’ll get chairs and non smoking. Usually only sit in the hot tube anyway. Was vibe crowded? Did you book entertainment shows as soon as you got on the ship? Thanks for sharing
