Norwegian shines in their restaurants and overall efficiency however they charge for everything. If you do not have the drink package be prepared to pay over 13 per mixed drink or 10 per beer. Internet is nearly 300 for the trip and it is barely adequate. Bottled water is 6 dollars so bring your on reusable bottles like we did. Kids club will cost 6 per hour per kid and the pool table will cost 5 dollars a game!
The guitar player singer in the craft brew pub was excellent and the craft beers were only 11 dollars each so I guess that's ok.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
We had two cabins as we have a large family and unfortunately everyone from both cabins had to be present before they would let us inboard. It was a little frustrating from a transportation standpoint and it didn't make a lot of sense.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The buffer and the sit down restaurants were very good considering the number of guests they were feeding. Although drinks including soft drinks were NOT included in our cruise package the soft drinks were reasonably priced in some of the restaurants and over priced in others. You could however purchase a bottle of wine at dinner for around 29 plus 5 gratuity. You may want to bring a few bottles on board which we did and simply pay the corking fee per bottle of 15 dollars.
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
We did the wine and cheese tasting which was a lot of fun and only 21 dollars per person. It was well worth it.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The shows could be a little better but overall they were ok. The guitarist in the craft brewery was excellent.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
The kids enjoyed the activities.
Service and Staff

Everyone did a good job.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Coincidently this was the second cruise on the same boat for us and although we would like to try a new boat next time, the boat was very nice.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Our veranda room was pretty small for 4 people. We have older kids so the room seemed to get smaller since our last cruise on this ship with the same people. Also I don't think the room qualified as a suite since there was no divider between beds. The bathroom was surprisingly big in this room and was certainly adequate. The minibar was not stocked and water was not provided.
Ship tip
I would caution against the eastern Caribbean sailings as the travel time takes away from the port visits. And to be honest the virgin island ports are not very exciting unless you are looking for jewelry
We did the waterfall hike which was fun however there were too many people on this excursion over the holidays and we froze in the water waiting for our turn.
Just in case you didn't know, all cruise lines charge for drink packages in some way. Soda and alcohol is never included. It tells you in your contract what's included and what isn't for food and beverages
Thanks for your review. We actually love the Eastern Caribbean and have not found travel times to be that long. St. Thomas' beautiful Magen's Bay is a fairly affordable and short taxi ride away. We've also taken the sky tram up the mountain on our own for the most breathtaking views of the bay and surrounding islands, not to mention a memorable parasail ride over the bay. We have done a land tour in DR during which we got to meet the locals and get to know the culture. It's unfortunate you were not able to spend time on GSC. I've seen a lot of that on message boards lately. It is a nice island if you enjoy beach activities.
