We had some really good memories, but unfortunately most of them were not very good. This cruise line is not meant for a young family.
Embarkation

Perfect, fast
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Loved dining at O'Sheehans and Teppanyaki, the buffet was overly busy and dining rooms were slow.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Climbing walls were often partially closed and main pols were for those 18+; making it hard to observe my children, as the pool was off to the side without ample seating.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The one show that we attended was the best show we have ever seen on a cruise. Unfortunately due to not being aware things had to be pre-booked or access to a stand-by line, we missed almost all entertainment opportunities.
Children's Programs
My children were not interested.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
All staff was friendly, but out room steward was always in our room when we came back to it.

Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
Size was small but that was expected. The room was very clean to the point the bleach could be smelled entering the room and was not rinsed off so it ruined some of my sons new clothing.
No planned excursion. We stayed at the Best Western Premier NYC Gateway Hotel, North Bergen, NEW JERSEY and used their shuttles into the city the night before. Hotel was amazing and my family had a great time in the city.
Spot on tips about this ship with a young family. The children’s pool is almost impossible to view as it is bunched in. The ropes course was often closed due to high winds
We found that NCL Escape is one of the best ships for any age group of children and they are doing great job to make sure they have plenty of activities. If your children are way too young, then it is your responsibility to make sure they are entertained, as they need to be accompanied by the adults. If you.need more attention than that try Disney cruise next time, they are all about the kids, but don't complain that it will cost you double or You didn't have a good time.
