We truly love the Norwegian Escape. Our inside cabin was so dark that we slept like babies. After two cruises on the Dawn and six on the Gem we were afraid the Escape would feel too crowded. It was during the muster in the atrium and we wren't used to having to make show reservations but by the morning of day two we knew that we were in for a great time. Lots of bar bands that were very good. Our only complaint would be that there was almost no 50's doowop and traditional country music.
Embarkation

For such a large ship we were amazed how quickly we boarded the ship.

Onboard Activities

We enjoyed the 9-hole mini-golf, the rope course and fitness center. The pool is okay but 6' deep all around. Being a non-swimmer I was content to sit on the edge and dunk my feet.
Entertainment

After Midnight is tops! All of the complementary shows are very good but be sure to go to the box offfice and reserve your seats. All the shows in the Supper Club were also excellent.
Children's Programs
We came as a couple.
Service and Staff

This was our 9th cruise. All on Norwegian. First time on the Escape and we agree that the entire staff was even better than usual.
Ship Quality

The Escape still seemed to have the "new ship smell" which we love. Definitely an adjustment getting used to the layout for the first day. We are used to the Dawn and Gem but this ship has many more options.
Cabin / Stateroom

Not at all large but very well designed with plenty of room for the two of us. Excellent bathroom layout. We are used to Amtrak Roomettes so this felt luxurious!
Ship tip
For a great relatively quiet area visit Spice H20 on deck 17 aft. Great for reading with no sounds from the band at the pool. Sometimes movies are shown up there after dinner.
Happy with everything on the island including ample loungers in shade. Beautiful! Nice luncheon buffet, turquoise sea, palm trees and gentle waves with mild temps.
The straw market at the terminal area didn't interest us. We did the "Resort For A Day" at the Hilton. A very easy walk and nice. The price included a food and drink allowance which was good. The Hilton is only a 15-minute walk from the ship.
