Review summary

Room was ok. Food was the same every day. Having 27 restaurants on the ship only 3 where free of extra charge, and all of them had the same horrible menu. We ended up eating in the buffet where food was not good at all. The worst part was entertainment on the ship. Only 2 free shows, and they charge for the rest of the shows. I've never seen it before. Entertainment on the ships is always free ( we cruised with Royal Carribean before). Another thing which surprised us a lot was charge for the gym classes. It was about 25 dollars per class. Gym should be free. Bermuda is beatiful. I don't recommend this ship.

You'll find that other ships are now charging for gym classes ... I believe only stretching and abs were free on Anthem of the Seas ...

First let me say, It is unfortunate that your trip was not a good one. Moving forward, Your review is unusual. 9 out of 10 of reviews that I have read both on Facebook, cruise Critics and here about the escape have been positive. It sounds like nothing would of made you happy.

The only shows that had a charge were the dinner theater shows where you got a show and a meal. For the record was one that you could also see for free in the theater.

The gym is free but there is a fee for classes with instructors. There has been a charge for these classes on NCL carnival and royal.

@sflcoupons was on the Escape only 3 months ago and there were many free shows and several that there were a charge for but they came with a dinner and 1 also free ale this was not the experience we had. Please read more reviews on the Escape before not enjoying her again

I went to all the shows on the ship including the comedy and the dueling piano (all awesome) and didn't pay anything...one of my fav cruises by far.

I'm shocked that u had to pay for shows. That must be new. We have been on escape twice n nvr had tobpay for a show . Altho the comedy dinner shows etc but those were not in the theatre... wow im sorry they r charging now, that stinks... we d idnt love the shows in the theatre but they were free and something that d idnt cost of we wanted to do something to go n do ... The food was great we thought but to be honest we were in the haven, and had our own specialty rest every meal. But we did pay n eat st t eo SPECIALTY rests. Those rocked too. I'm truely sorry ur experience was not grand bc escape was one of my fav ships we had been on .. glad I haven't booked another cruise on her if things r not so good anymore. Happy cruising to u in the future!!!! Hope its better for u next cruise.

I thought the entertainment was one of the best things on the ship. Besides the shows in the theater the comedy shows were great and there were live bands every day in multiple locations.

Beautiful ship that I'll never go on again to many people

Hmmm... you must not have explored the ship very well. We've been on the Escape twice, that's how much we enjoyed it.

Did you even SEE your daily cruiser? If you couldn't find something to entertain you then you just didn't even look. And the menus in all the complimentary restaurants are very good, and they do change up in the Manhattan room quite often in 7 days. And when was the last time you went to a gym for free? A gym membership has a fee that includes classes. The gym on board is free...only extra classes have fees. I don't think NCL is for you. Too bad...we are a cool bunch! 😊

3 MDR, a huge buffet, an Irish pub...all free. Other restaurants for a small fee. Free entertainment every day: trivia, comedy show, Howl at the moon, music by the pool,. Just to name a few. Just look at the daily planner. Nobody’s gonna take you by the hand to go see a show or try a new restaurants. A vacation, is what you make of it. But a little bit of research doesn’t hurt.

Awe so sad you didn’t enjoy your cruise

2 Free shows? There’s several free ‘shows’ everyday if you look on the daily schedule.... Free dining? 3 main restaurants. plus huge buffet with change of theme daily & with 100s of selection options, plus free O’Sheehans, plus free snacks in various places, plus 7-8 modest fee special restaurants, not sure whether you looked around the ship enough...
