Review summary

The ship was way to large and crowded for my taste. To much walking. I thought the food overall was just OK, nothing spectacular, The ports of call did not excite me, On a positive note. there is lots to do on the ship, Great water park, ropes course for the youngsters. Lots of bars if you're a drinker. If you are younger and in good shape I think this could be your ship, Not so much for this old man. I also must tell you that five out of the six in my party ended up at the doctors as soon as we got home. one sinusitis, 2 bronchitis, myself lung and upper respritory infection and one severe edeema. so four of us are on antibiotics and one an a water pill and a strict diet, Could be coincidence bur probably not,

Embarkation

A little hectic because of the amount of people but all in all the people doing the work were well trained and everything moved quickly and steady.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The buffet was excellent although quite crowded during prime time. I made it a point to have breakfast here early mornings to beat the crowds and the food was always good, hot. and the egg guy makeing fresh eggs and omelettes to order was nice. The first evening at one of the main dining rooms I became very ill after eating there. food poison i'm pretty sure. didn't go back. This was at O'Shehans. The other dining rooms were fine. The specialty restaurants were good. the seafood restaurant was a dissapointment just because we had a hard time getting a reservation and my expectations were very high. It was good just not as good as I expected. Cagneys was pretty good, very busy. but quite good. The food at the supper club was dissapointing also. not my cup of teas. The lunch at the wine lovers musical was also dissapointing. all the other places we ate at on the ship were fine. The little frozen custard / ice cream station was excellent as was the little bake shop next to it. The ice cream hard serve station on the buffet was also excellent.

The Bake Shop

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We didnt have time for too many activities because we were always walking or waiting. This ship is huge. The water slides were fun. One of my highlites of the ship was the day pass at the thermal spa. We did this on a port day and pretty much had it to ourselvess, Very nice relaxing day.

Hot Tubs

1 out of 5

a big disapointment. water no where near hot enough, very busy, except early mornings. and port days, even then were very busy and crowded

very disapointing. water not hot enough. way to crowded.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Lets see where to begin. The shows in the atrium were a lot of fun, crowded and hard to get a seat but I think I enjoyed this venue as much if not more than the others, The Brat Pac was kind of cheesy. enjoyable but i Thought the best part of it was the singing. They could have all just sat still on the stage and sang and it would have been just as good. The supper club was good. I thoiught Brenda Braxton was good although the food sucked. The wine lovers musical wasnt good at all . Very corny and the wines were all dry wines and not a good sweet red wine in the bunch and the food sucked. The After Midnight was my favorite. In my opinion it was the best show we saw. Very well done.

Children's Programs

no children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
five stars only for my room steward Sammy. Very nice, hard working, friendly, attentive, and i could go on and on. She is very good at what she does. Everyone of the other staff we came in contact with were just OK nobody stood out. Except a gentleman named Scott that was working the buffet one morning stopped and chatted. he was very nice. And of course DanDan was everywhere.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
all the common areas were kept very clean and if it wasn't for the smoke from the casino and from the smoking area and the butts on the decks outside where they shouldn't be, it was fine. seems like i had to walk through that smoky casino every time i turned around.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
was kept very clean. bed was comfy and loved the balcony.

Ship tip

go on a smaller ship unless you like to walk.

did the self guided tour of the Atlantis resort. really enjoyed the aquriums. the beach was nice but didn't spend any time on the beach as it started raining pretty good. Way to much walking for us. it took forever to walk down that long pier.
