Review summary

It would've been a perfect trip if the ship didn't change course due to the medical emergency. I truly hope that person is ok but at the same time I really really wish the ship didn't change course from the itinerary which I booked and purchased for. If your ship ever has to change course for whatever reason, it will be a mess to change anything you planned and booked for outside the cruise line. I spent a lot of time and effort researching where we were going and booking so that's where my disappoint comes from and dealing with the changing and cancelling the excursion bookings. The ship and its amenities are world class.

Embarkation

A bit of a long line but what do you expect.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The 3 main dining rooms were great which have the same menu. Our favorite was the Manhattan Room since there's entertainment while dining.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Mostly everything was good. Except the swimming pool extremely disappointing for the kids pool. It was super cold!!! They don't even make it heated!!! I was hoping to go everyday with my little one but once we went in, it was like ice!!! No way for my baby. Please fix!

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The dueling pianos were great! The magician was so-so. The MCs were good.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
They were really nice and sweet. However, on the only night we booked the late night nursery, they called us to pick up our baby due to him crying for awhile from the first session. We came and left our show and when we came our baby was okay. He was fine and should've kept him in but since he was the only one left they said it was done. Honestly, he was ok and I felt they just didn't want to stay later for him as scheduled. A bit disappointing we couldn't have our late date night. But like I said they were really nice and sweet WHEN they wanted to work.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
I really liked all the servers that we had. Everyone was so friendly and very interactive us and our baby. Except the 1 guy in O'Sheehan's who served us for lunch one time. He really did not like his job. We ignored it at the time though.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The halls for the rooms do not have room for a stroller while the housekeeping staff is working. Also, the stroller did not fit the doorway of the room. You would have the same problem with a wheelchair or walker.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Perfect for our needs, a couple and a baby. The housekeeping brought in a crib for us, which we pre-ordered. Everything fit fine. Housekeeping was constantly there to keep everything clean. And ofcourse I love the animal towels!

Ship tip

I really like the location of our room! We were in the middle!

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

Went straight from the airport to the port. When we came back from the cruise, stayed a night in Miami at the Fontainebleau.

Falmouth, Jamaica Did not visit port

Extremely disappointed that the ship did not go there as planned and had booked a private tour outside of the cruise line. What a mess and headache to cancel my excursion when I didn't have email access during my cruise.

George Town, Grand Cayman

4 out of 5
It was a nice port. However, like I mentioned, what a mess and took some time to re-book my excursion I booked outside of the cruise line on the right date and time because of the medical emergency the cruise ship re-routed and changed the whole course!!! I swam with the stingrays at stingray city. It definitely was an experience of a lifetime!

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

3 out of 5
Just ok. Not too impressed but ok. We went to the Chacchoben ruins and that was ok. Good photo ops and hike around.

Nassau, Bahamas Did not visit port

I am extremely disappointed that I did not go to this port!!!! This was the one I was most excited for!!! I had read and planned for this port and planned for this excursion but did not get to go due a medical emergency that the ship re-routed the whole course for one person. I thought a helicopter was supposed to fly someone out when there is an emergency? I hope that person is ok. I just didn't know they would change a whole ships itinerary for that.

Disembarkation

Pretty organized.

And great info for those with strollers ! An umbrella stroller is your best bet. As for wheelchairs, I would hope those folks would have booked a handicap accessible cabin

This is an excellent case of why booking your excursions through the cruise line makes good sense. Our last cruise was also diverted for a medical emergency. If you book with a third party, you are on your own for a refund. Thanks for posting @Ttaveltheworld2!
