Review summary

For our first cruise we were completely pleased and decided that we would cruise annually. It took us a few days to realize that we had more dining options than we thought.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We got through the stations quickly and our room was ready immediately upon boarding. The lines were long but moved quickly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Overall the food was outstanding, the buffet had a large selection, however there were times when the variety was limited when it seemed that it should not be. The dining rooms were excellent and the staff was attentive and courteous.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There are a wide range of activities to keep you busy, we spent most of our time in the Adults only area and the hot tubs, but did also enjoy the water slides and mini golf as well as the many different seminars offered. Make sure to go to Karaoke, it was awesome.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
A great variety of shows were offered. Make sure to book early to ensure a seat. I liked that they offered the shows at different times.

Children's Programs

Did not travel with kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was excellent, especially our steward, Maria. The service desk was very helpful and pleasantly assited when we had an unusual request.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Spotless and well maintained through out our cruise. all areas were cleaned continuously.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Very clean, comfortable beds and spacious for the 3 of us.

Ship tip

Make sure you book shows early. Get to the pools early if you want a chair.

Echohun, actually it was our son that set a high bar. He had been trying to get us to cruise (most of our travel has been freestyle) for years, so for Xmas 2016 he gave us this cruise. I jokingly told him that any future cruise we went on that did not live up to this one would be his fault (LOL). In the end, most travel is what you make of it, accept and deal with problems as they come and enjoy the experience. Looking forward to sailing on a smaller ship.

Congrats on your first cruise. You have the same learning curve we all do. Next time you will be that much more prepared. Happy future cruising!

We are usually Carnival cruisers and have cruise Royal Caribbean as well but tried NCL Escape for our last cruise and it was by far our best cruise ever! Loved 4th the Escape so much. You definitely set the bar high on your first cruise!
