Review summary

This was my 8th cruise overall and 2nd with norwegian. The escape is a wonderful ship as you probably have read about. It is pretty much the same as the getaway just different restaurants. i recommend all of the complimentary restaurants as well as margaritaville and the brazillian steakhouse. both were very good! for cruisers who have ever wondered if cruiselines water down there alcohol well i know for sure that norwegian does as i was walking into a bar one night and saw the bartender poor water and tequila(mixed) back into a tequila bottle. i wasnt sure what to think about that so i never said anything. as far as the ports.. i think tortola is better then st. thomas because it is less populated and just as beautiful. all of the shows on the boat were very good. let me know if anyone has any questions. i will cruise with norwegian again

Ship tip

A lot of people say that the ship is overcrowded but I dont think thats the case. Any ship with 4000 plus people is going to get crowded in certain areas at times but i never had to wait to long for anything that i did

sideout... the smoke was noticeable in the casino but it helped that there was a part of the casino with no smoking allowed so its noticeable but not to bad

We went on the Breakaway last year out of NY and there was a big problem with cigarette smoke smell. Is this an issue on the Escape? With the casino right in the center the smell used to travel down through the atrium below the casino.

marlene: i dont think the cruise ever felt overcrowded. the comedy shows were good as always( i have never seen a bad one). the adult section was never overcrowded. i was there every sea day and never had to wait for a seat.

Jen: the main dining rooms do have certain meals that have a fee. but i felt the meals that were included were good.

Leedd: reservations are not required for the specialty restaurants. If you know of one that you want to go do I recommend going ahead and reserving it, but if not don't reserve one

I have made a reservation for the 1st night. I would like to find out if it's necessary for the rest of the cruise. I've never been on such a large ship.

Regarding the reservation does anyone think I need reservations prior to leaving.

What are the menus like in the main dining? I heard you have to pay extra for certain items??

Going in May....but have never been on a mega ship like this...Does it feel very crowded? Are there lots of spaces around? how is the comedy shows? Thank you....anything extra u want to say would be great! Thank you.

thanks for balanced review. other people have spoken about not being able to get reservations in the restaurants until very late in the evening, in answer some people have said they have already made them 90 days in advance online. what was your experience? thanks for your help.
