Review summary

The Escape was a beautiful ship, but we were very disappointed. Several days we went to the pool deck and no available lounge chairs. Many of the ahows were booked with no availability. Specialty dining was a perk, but no availability until 9 at night. Drink package was good. Staff were very friendly. Spent a lot of $ on a cruise. We didn't enjoy. Very stressful at times. Not the vacation we expected. We won't ever cruise this ship again unless there are changes.

Cabin was nice, but small for a suite. We had a disabled daughter and the cabin was a long walk from elevator.

Ship tip

Lots of extra charges for activities. We spent much more than we planned.

Sorry to hear that it wasn't your best experience.  Hopefully this will not squash your future cruise plans.

Thank you for posting your review.  It is unfortunate that this did not work out as well as you hoped.  Don't give up on cruising altogether though.  Different cruise lines operate differently. Smaller ships are not as challenging as larger ones, not just in terms of being more reasonable for disabled individuals to get around but also they do not seem so hung up on this reservation BS. There are accessible staterooms that are close to elevators.  If you still want to DIY, be sure to look at available staterooms when you book and select one that meets your needs.

Did you book through a Travel Agent? If so did the agent inform you about charges on board? I understand on the bigger ships there are schedules for just about everything. Your agent should have gone over all of that with you when you discussed the trip.  Please look at other options when you book your next cruise as there are many  ways to accommodate  everyone
