Review summary

The only thing we did not like was the gratuities charged everyday. I don't believe we were told that would be done. Other than that we had a wonderful time.

sugar64    8 years ago

They work very hard i tip a extra 40.00 and depends how long the cruise is i couldnt afford 200.00 bucks. Its nice myangel0508 that you do that

xobabyd86ox    8 years ago

Yes ! They work really hard!

klotzhuber    8 years ago

We always tip more also have no problem with tipping they work so hard they deserve more its really pretty cheap tipping if you consider 20 percent when you eat out at home and all the services we get on a cruise we have been cruising since 1982 and cruises really havent gone up much so who can complain about tipping !!!

vigevanijr    8 years ago

Need to pay beforehand

myangel0508    8 years ago

You gave $200 extra to just the steward??

xobabyd86ox    8 years ago

I give 200 I guess I'm over tipping lol they deserve it though

Depends on the service on one cruise we had 2 stewards and they both were amazing we tipped I think an extra 40 each. They send it home to their families.

Of course we were on two different cruises.

kaadams1967    8 years ago

We tipped at the end becausewe got good service but our nephew tipped the first day to insure good service.

myangel0508    8 years ago

Thats reasonable to me, did you do it in the beginning or at the end? I know some ppl do it in the beginning for "better" service.

kaadams1967    8 years ago

Well for us it was affordable to us to add $20, but others have differing opinions.

Rim is room

nanckat    8 years ago

YVE sucks. Small rim and bathroom and no mirror in room

myangel0508    8 years ago

For the ppl who do extra tip the steward how much do you typically give?

kaadams1967    8 years ago

Some peopleprefer to hand pay their gratuities. You can go to guest services and request adjustments, but the service is usually good. Our last cruise we were so impressed with our room steward we tipped extra straight to him.

So you have taken 2 - 3 cruises and have NEVER been charged gratuities????

shipmanclan    8 years ago

You can prepay before every cruise company has gratuities how do u think they pay the crew? We usually prepay then tip our room Steward too.

myangel0508    8 years ago

It's listed right in the paperwork and on the online reservation. Regular rooms $13.50 per person ages 3 and over a day. Haven Suite I believe is $15.50 a day and you have the option of pre paying them before the cruise.
