Review summary

There are definitely pros and cons of this large a ship. There are more dining and bar venues. But the wait at the elevators can be annoying. The first day you should make reservations at the speciality restaurants because the seating before 9:00 will fill up by the end of the first day.  Also the shows will all be booked by the second day.

The crew is very attentive and helpful. Everything was new and clean.

One thing annoyed the hell out of me. The website says you can bring wine aboard and pay a $15 fee per bottle. However if you do they treat you like a criminal. They rifle through you luggage to get the wine then leave a letter that says they have confiscated the illegal products. The instructions on how to get your wine are mostly inaccurate. We ended up getting the wine back the last night.

Ship tip

Because you pay for everything with your room key it is easy to lose track of how much you spent so the final bill can be a big surprise.

They specifically tell you to bring your wine in your carry on only so you don't have to feel like a criminal.

We bring our wine on with our carry on luggage and never have a problem

I have mixed feeling about the early booking scenario for shows and MDR. When I am on vacation usually I don't want to plan that far in advance. On board the cruise we have been on, during our early morning walk we see what the menu will be and decide then. Not 3 months ahead....

I guess that this will be the norm on all the MEGA ships in all fleets. Hence the reason I am in no rush to get  on board.

I agree!! We booked all our reservations when it opened up 90 days in advance as per the other reviews had suggested!!

Dining reservations for Haven open up 100 days before, 90 days for others who booked Speciality!

A person should book their specialty restaurant reservations before they go on their cruise. Along with the shows. We booked ours about a month in advance.
