Review summary
I was a bit worried about all the really terrible reviews, but was pretty pleasantly surprised. They really went all out for Halloween and it was great. The cruising experience is different now than it was pre pandemic, so just need to reset your expectations or try another vacation. The ship is headed for dry dock, so there are things that need to be fixed and they were fine. The layout is not great, but I’m just finding none of the big ships are designed for flow, which is unfortunate. There wasn’t a ton of space to sit and chill-unless you really search-which is also unfortunate. Once you spend some time searching, you’ll find space to enjoy yourself! There is a lot of dead space and wasted space, but I think just not enough staff to figure out how to make the best use of it. There were lots of venues and great nighttime activities and shows-not a lot happening during the day which was a bummer but again a post pandemic thing that I hope will recover someday. There were plenty of restaurants, though most were strangely small, maybe they can rework that on dry dock. Food was good. Drink lines were long but I didn’t partake so not an issue for me. The slides looked like a blast and the rock wall was impressive. The room was nice for me as a solo guest. The bathroom situation is a no go for groups and maybe some couples-I would splurge for more rooms if possible as the ship otherwise is nice and the rooms themselves are nice. Maybe they can figure out how to rework this too. The biggest issue on NCL on any ship these days is the STAFF cutback-it’s vastly different than pre pandemic levels of service. It’s so so so much harder to find a staff member now, there are cups and litter flying around the decks because there’s no one attending to it anymore and the staff in general seems overworked, which is unfortunate. They already work so hard, shame on NCL uppers making their jobs harder by cutting back staff.Embarkation
