We have cruised before with other companies and would most definitely look at other cruise lines first before booking here. If the price was overwhelmingly better we might try again.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
We had been issued a time frame to arrive at the port for embarkation and not sure why as we waited in line winding around up and down the stairs for hours with no place to sit before checking in. (Bad) The weather was nice while we wound around up and down. (good)
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
It seemed that there were times when no food available at the buffets. (Bad). There were many food options both complementary and specialty. (Good). The food was adequate in preparation and display. (good). The pizza was Good! There was a charge for continental breakfast delivered to the room.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Some of the activities were not working. (Bad).
Entertainment
2 out of 5
The “Burn The Floor” was (GOOD). The magic by Glen Gleason was (GOOD). But the rest of the activities were not up to par with what should have been provided especially on a transatlantic cruise. (BAD and UGLY).
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
The cabin steward was the best and very attentive. (GOOD).
The rest of the ship personnel were not always helpful and took any questions and or comments concerns in a negative manner.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
Yes! This is a dated ship and things were not as shiny as a new ship.
The (UGLY) the smoke exhaust stacks spewed soot on a portion of the back of the ship and some did get on my shirt and has left a stain. (BAD).
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Room arrangement was fine and seemed roomy (good) although the shower toilet setup was different. The balcony seemed nice size and private (good) although you do not get an uninstructed view to the water.
Ship tip
Explore the ship and everything it has to offer. Spice H2O is very nice.
This was BAD and UGLY as we did not stop for this port after our transatlantic voyage!!!
There were ship issues that had been going on for 48 hours and we did not stop and we only got notice the morning of. Those who had planned excursions found out only hours before their excursion.
There is no official credit or real apology for missing a port.
I think any ship could be a bit tiresome on a transatlantic. There are limited things to do on a ship. I am glad you enjoyed your ports. We have been on the Epic and other Ncl ships and always had a great time.
We just got off the Norwegian epic. I was surprised to hear once again that the crewmembers were not up to par. We were amazed at how friendly everyone was on this ship and how they went above and beyond. For the entire 10 day cruise we found all of the crewmembers to be so friendly. We decided we like carnival better than NCL, but that is another topic.
