If you ever had been on a lazy river, use that thought to process a cruise. Relax. Don't be in a hurry. Bad reviews come from people who are hurried. Make your experience just that: yours. It's nice to get a heads up, but those who leave nothing but negative reviews usually are very difficult to please or expectation too demanding. You're there to chill 😎 do so. Don't worry about the day. Do that when you get back home.
Embarkation

We stayed the night in Titusville before going to port. Getting there was easy. No issues. Use the parking lot and pay the little extra to park at the port. Worth it. Check all the luggage you can. Worth it. Got through customs line with ease. There were a line of people but they got us through fairly fast. We waited in the wait area until our boarding started and number to board wad called. We walked the gangway to enter ship. You're gonna wait awhile before actually getting to your rooms. So, if you don't want to check your carry on bags when you board you'll be lugging them around until about 230ish
Got to our room at 3pm as the stewards will still delivering luggage. Settled in, but slight fiasco. I accidentally pushed the door lock switch on and locked us out. Our steward was able to get around to unlock for us. Funny and smh at same time. 😆

Our room was amazing. Plenty of space and very comfortable. I asked steward for a coffee pot and a egg crate and got it within the hour. Our steward was great.
Ship tip
Timing is everything. Don't read negative reviews to form an opinion. Your experience is just that: yours.
Don't expect to be leisure and wake up late and get food. Get up early, catch the sunrise and skip the long lines.
Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 was very pleasant. We walked to the Old Fort and around the area. If you get the chance, get some food at a local vendor. Good food. Check out the old city gates.
It was fun to disembark but definitely would recommend an excursion and not self support efforts. We walked a bit to the skyline and ended up getting a taxi truck. 2 dollars per person. At Port you'll pay 5+ each. But, finding a taxi back is more difficult. We earned our heal blisters lol. Walked 9 miles. Get a taxi. It's a short day. Only 6 hrs. Definitely needs more time there to really enjoy it. If you're able, go to Megan's Bay.
By far the best excursion to go on IMHO. The people were extremely friendly and nice. Fun and entertaining. There's a lot of dogs around and friendly. If you are afraid of dogs just leave them be, but not to worry. Will definitely go again to this town. Puerto Plata.
They're building a dock for better access but boat excursion was fairly easy. No rough water. The beach was a.m.a.z.i.n.g. crystal clear water to snorkel. Was able to see stingrays, flounder, sunfish and a ship wreck. Food was available around 1130. Tasty. Getting back was easy.
When you get on and off, make sure you have room key and drivers license to board.
Word to the wise:
Get the pink tag for luggage. It's a 915 disembark time. You can get off ship at any time you like. You're gonna at luggage claim until there's an all clear to claim luggage. Stay near the stairs when you get to luggage claim. Your bags will be near there. Once cleared look for your luggage. GET A PORTER! he'll get you around the long customes line to the front and to your parked car. Tip him for his efforts. You'll need cash. You'll thank me for this. We were in our van, on the road before 815. If you don't, You'll be standing in line for some time.
