An Epic cruise ship for an epic cruise will make up for an epic time. Norwegian Cruise Line sets the bar when it comes to entertainment, drinks and restaurants. If you're looking for a great ship with a lot to do, Norwegian Epic will be a great idea to go with. Specialty dining options a vast so you won't feel like you're missing out. Don't regret on doing the All White Party at H20 Spice on Deck 15 in the back of the ship.
Embarkation

This was my second time leaving out of Port Canaveral. This is my favorite port to leave out since I have yet(knock on wood) to have any issues leaving. Staff was nice, Norwegian made sure we got on the ship quickly.

Food and Dining

Dining Rooms/Specialty Dining:
Taste - Wonderful breakfast and lunch. I love that they kept a couple of things the same for breakfast so if you have a staple you like to eat(ie pancakes) you can every day.
The Manhattan Room - I hate that we came to this dining room on the last day of our cruise. The food here was like eating at one of the specialty restaurants. They also had some of the dances from their shows producing entertainment during our meal which was fantastic.
Shanghai's - Really good Asian cuisine. Regret not coming back for more. I do recommend coming here and having multiple items since they are small in portion, especially if you plan on drinking later in the evening.
O'Sheehan's - Most of the cruise you might have found us here. My wife and I made friends with the staff here pretty quickly. We also made friends with some people from PA that we were glad we met on the cruise. The staff always made sure that our drinks were never empty. The food here is your typical bar food(wings, fries, etc.) but, good typical bar food. They also do breakfast here if you don't want to walk to the two dining rooms. This is a great place to start your evening since it's close to the comedy club, casino, and shows.
Moderno Churrascaria - First time at a Brazilian Steakhouse. You come for the meats. Staff comes around with different meats(ie chicken, filet mignon, flank steak). I liked it but I won't come here again. They hold off on the good stuff to make you forget that is what you're there for...the filet mignon. I had to wait around for one piece of it, really wasn't too happy about that. Other than that, the restaurant was pretty good.
La Cucina - One of the best restaurants on the ship. The food here was well worth waiting for. Portions were huge. We left happy and full. I do recommend coming here if you're using specialty dining through "Free at Sea"
Room Service - I used room service a lot. I recommend using it only if you plan on ordering multiple items(4-5 items). Do not, I repeat DO NOT using it to get one soda, like I did(yes, I'm an idiot). The service charge is not worth it.
Onboard Activities

Pools - We went during spring break and the pools and decks were crowded.
Spice H20 Bar/Pool - One of the many aspects of this ship that I loved. An Adults-Only area that was a great place to get away from any type of craziness you may find on the ship. The all white party was awesome as well. Recommend doing that while you're on this ship.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Headliners Comedy Club - The comedians were very funny. I hope to bump into them again.
Cirque Dreams Epicurean - Dinner and a show. If you have ever seen anything from Cirque du Soleil, you're in for a treat. The seating from the back isn't the greatest if you're really there for the show. I do recommend just do the regular seating and look at sitting on the second floor.

Service and Staff
5 out of 5
I wish I wrote this review a lot sooner because everyone on the Epic was friendly, from our room steward to the bartenders at our favorite bar(O'Sheehan's). This was our first cruise with Norwegian Cruise Lines and it left a wonderful impression on us.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Layout - Everything was reasonably within distance from our room(Deck 8). I can't say the same for people staying on deck 12(Haven Suite's). Everything indoor is on Decks 5,6 and 7. Everything else is not as difficult to get to but be prepared to wait for an elevator to get where you're going. One complaint about the ship is, it's dark throughout waiting areas(elevators and stairwells).
Design - You couldn't tell that this ship was refurbished back in 2015. It felt very modern for an older ship.
Cabin / Stateroom

I'm sure this has been said a lot, I hate the shower/toilet/sink set up. I prefer everything to be a traditional bathroom. Other than that, the room has a lot of storage space for luggage and clothing.
Ship tip
If you're looking for a drink when you first get on the ship head straight to Deck 15. Most of the ship won't be set up yet.
I totally agree with you regarding Moderno, the Brazilian steakhouse. I told the server she was holding my meats plate hostage and I was calling a hostage negotiator to broker its release. I'm one those people that likes to enjoy my salad bar with my meat selections. NEVER AGAIN.
