Review summary

This is our second cruise (Mom and two teens). We upgraded to The Haven on the Breakaway last year and can never go back. This year we totally splurged on the two bedroom family suite. So much room! I have nothing but good things to say about NCL. Staff is friendly and helpful. Ship is clean. We all find plenty of fun things to do. The slides, rock wall, etc. for the teens is perfect. I'm thinking that next cruise I may not book excursions. We're all happier just hanging on the quiet ship when everyone else is off doing things.

Long line before security but after that it went very quickly

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

The buffet is great. It's the only place my kids want to eat. Did one dinner at the hibachi place and it was the best hibachi experience ever.

Ship was very clean. We stayed in the Haven and I preferred the layout of the Haven on the Breakaway to the Epic.

Ship tip

If you can do it, stay in The Haven. Such a lovely experience. Don't feel like you HAVE to do shore excursions. The ship is great when everyone else is away.

Ports of call

Falmouth, Jamaica

We did the horseback riding. It was fun. Trail ride was a little short and slow but swimming with them was very cool. Then went right back to the ship. Not a town you can wander around in.

George Town, Grand Cayman

We did SNUBA. Not an official shore excursion. It was great!! Did not explore the town after.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

Water was chilly and beach was very crowded. Long lines for food and drink. We opted to go back to the nice quiet ship.

Disembarkation

Very quick and easy. Found our luggage very quickly.

We have not yet been in a Haven room but the H1 is a bucket list room. It is hard to even think of going back to regular balcony rooms. If you want to experience about the same thing try Star Class on RCCL. This will be our third cruise with a fourth next March.
