The Epic is much too large and the crowds were unbelievable.

Review summary

I did not realize that our staterooms were improperly booked so our party was on two different decks. The EPIC is bloated. There are too many people packed in and the entire experience uncomfortable.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
A mob scene but it moved with reasonable speed.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was ok. Restaurant reservations were impossible to make because of the volume of people.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Pool deck was wall to wall people. Pools were standing room only. Spa is lovely. Fitness center very nice.

Entertainment

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
Ship was clean. Layout and how to get from "here to there" took days to understand.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Very little space to move around but it was comfortable and well kept. Definitely needs outlets near the bed.

Ship tip

Don't go on the Epic unless it is half filled.

Ports of call

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

3 out of 5
The Baths were beyond crowded.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

3 out of 5
Our trip snorkelling in St. John was cancelled. Charlotte Amalie is a nice town.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

1 out of 5
Took HOURS to tender to the island. The island itself is just a beach with a few thousand people.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
We took a post-cruise trip so we avoided the lines.

The reviewer is mistaken on the Great Stirrup Cay tenders; they must be confusing it with another sailing. We were on this sailing (Dec 15-22 2018), and we skipped that island due to bad weather. We didn't have issues with dinner reservations as we booked all of ours weeks ahead of time.

Sailed the Epic for Christmas with 4888 passengers....never waited in line as we prebooked everything!
