Review summary

Our family booked our cruise about 9 months prior to departure.  This gave us plenty of time to plan.  I read hundreds of reviews.  I came to the conclusion too many negative people are taking vacations these days.  It is a vacation.  Relax!  From the reviews, I was able to plan accordingly and had no issues on our vacation.  This was our 9th cruise.

From all the negative reviews I read, the only item I agreed with is the size and set up of the cabins.  We had a family balcony stateroom.  It was really small for 4 people.  Instead of complaining about it, we adjusted and made it work for us.  We were never really in the room anyway.  On sea days, we were up on deck by 8am because by about 9am, there were no chairs left by the pool.  We went on shore for port days and had a blast even though we had our one excursion we scheduled cancelled.  We scheduled our reservations for dining ahead of time so no issues there.  We never had issues with food temperatures, taste, etc.  Again, RELAX, you have people cooking for you and you don't have to clean up.  It is vacation!  We dined in 4 specialty restaurants, buffet, and main dining.  All food was great.  The shows didn't interest me but my wife and others seemed to enjoy them very much.  The layout of the ship was fine.  There were no problems getting around.  I would suggest for those families considering this ship, I strongly recommend the 14th level.  The Splash Academy is located on 14 and the pool is one flight of steps up.  Easy to get around from this level.

Overall, it was an excellent experience for us.  This was our first time cruising with Norwegian.  We will definitely cruise with them again.

The Splash Academy is one of the best my children have experienced. They didn't want to leave each night.

If you watch the news and listen to the politisions complaining is the in thing to do. As soon as they become available I make my specialty reservations and get rid of the hassle I was on the Epic two years ago the only problem we had was the lack of chairs around the pool and that was because if chair hogs. The 45 min vacancy rule is tough to enforce. B

I went on a 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Epic about 3 years ago. I absolutely loved this ship! My two sons,my daughter in law , brother and sister in law and I are scheduled to do a 7 day Mediterranean cruise on the Epic in September. I can hardly wait to show them my favorite ship! Forget all the negative comments that people post. A vacation is what you make it. The ones who write the negative comments probably didn't want to go on a cruise to start with.

Folks take notice reviewer had specialty dining package, balcony, planned everything ahead, etc. if you want to pay for a basic cruise with NO hassles, go where you want when you want do NOT book this ship. Smaller ships include more with your basic ticket and are hassle free when it comes to schedules. I have over 20 cruises under my belt and live in Florida. My idea of vacation is a cruise ship with no schedule or reservations to worry about. Ship has a tender to an island, go when your ready, NOT when your letter is called, 🤦‍♂️ That is NOT the epic. Had a great time on the SKY more than once. And of course, love the "Fun Ships".

Thank you so much! I too have done everything prior to our cruise and all we need to put aside is for our private tours where we'll pay at the day of the tour, and of course our spending $. Being it's our first cruise I know I can't expect it to be all perfect but as long as my family takes in all the memories we will make than that's all that matters. Thank you for your post!

Great review seems like the Epic gets a bad wrap. Do your research plan ahead and sit back anf enjoy. Its just fun to research and plan makes it that much more exciting.

Excellent review. We do the same as you, research and plan ahead so we can relax and enjoy once on the ship. My only complaint about the Epic is the lack of mid-ship elevators. Again, great review.

Great review! Totally agree you are on vacation. You've got to make the best of every situation and relax! Otherwise almost anything minor can ruin your experience

My wife and I just finished a 14 day cruise on Epic. (2nd time on Epic) We had a great time,I agree ignore the negative comments and have fun. Sometimes you just make the best of a bad situation. Remember some people look for something to complain about.
