My favorite part of the cruise was the food on the Epic. The food was delicious and the service was great. The public area of the ship is beautiful.

Cabin is very small and cramped. The balcony was small. The worst bathroom set up I have seen on any ship. The room attendance was awesome. our room was always clean and made up

Ship tip

They will nickel and dime you to death. They charge $7:50 for a bottle of water and they don't allowed you to bring any on board. Stay out of the casino, you can't win. Take the drink package but it does not includes water

My understanding is that the gratuities we're going up from $13.50/pp to $13.99/pp (in the U.S.). It is more for European cruises?

I'm not sure where you're getting that information. According to this article http://www.travelmarketreport.com/articles/Norwegian-Cruise-Line-Raises-Gratuities they're raising gratuities to $14-19 depending on the room type per person per day but still can be removed...

Thanks. NCL just unveiled a new "mandatory daily gratuity" approaching, at it's highest, $50 per couple per day, effective 1 April. Of course - that's in addition to drink gratuities, additional(recommended) cash tips, and as you mentioned - bottled water.
