Review summary
We cruised on the Epic 2/1/15. Very easy embarkation, we were on the ship before noon. We did not have a bad meal the whole week! From the buffet to the sit down restaurants we enjoyed the food. Had reserved dinner at LaCucina, but we were pleasantly surprised we were selected to eat w/the captain along w/about 35 or so other couples so they cancelled our reservation for us. We enjoyed the entertainment, the Blue Man Group and Legends were great! The Cirque show was a disappointment for us though. We had heard conflicting opinions on whether you should pay for the upgraded seats, so we asked the NCL person when booking her thoughts and she said it wasn't necessary. That was a mistake, it was very hard to see the show from the "standard" seats. The ship sleeps 4100 but we were told there were 4500 on board. Not sure why a ship is overbooked by 10% or so? The only times we noticed the amount of people on the ship was deck side when you needed to be up there before 9am holding your lounge chair w/your beach towel, and sometimes waiting for an elevator. We had a balcony on the 10 th floor and found the room accommodations ok. The bath/ shower arrangement didn't seem like a big deal either way. The small sink was the biggest complaint regarding the room. Our room steward, Kringle was great, always remembered us and was much more attentive than our last steward on the NCL Star a couple of years ago. As others have mentioned, book the shows and port excursions early, or you may miss out.
