Review summary

Overall had a nice time on our first cruise. Ate, drank and slept too much, but it was super fun!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Traffic getting to the port was AWEFUL, so allow plenty of extra time to get to the terminal!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
All of the food was delicious! We did two specialty restaurants (Ocean Blue seafood restaurant and Le Bistro French restaurant) and both were wonderful. But even the food offered at the Garden Cafe buffet was always fresh and yummy.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Main pool deck was crowded. We paid the extra for the Vibe Beach Club top deck and it was well worth it! A quiet and relaxing retreat at the top of the ship with great views and even better service!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Choir of Man was super fun! And the Beatles show was really good, too. Also enjoyed the comedians and the various bands and DJs.

Children's Programs

Did not bring kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Top notch service from all staff! Most were from Philippines, which made me feel right at home since I am half Filipino. Others from India. All were very nice and attentive!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very nice ship. No idea how they keep it so clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

Nice cabin. Anthony our room steward kept everything very clean and tidy. Balcony has a table and two chairs and was private and nice to sit on and enjoy the view. I would definitely spring for a room with a balcony.

Ship tip

Try to get a room that is not right below the pool deck, as it can be loud at night. If you are traveling without children, get the Vibe Beach Club passes. You will not regret it!

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

We stayed at a hotel the day before embarkation, so we had plenty of time to explore South Beach, have a nice dinner, and get a hotel shuttle to the ship. I definitely recommend arriving at least a day or two ahead of time to cut down on the travel stress and not risk missing your ship!

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
We did the Damajaguas Waterfalls and Buggies excursion. It is definitely physically challenging, involving a 40-minute hike up a mountain and riding natural waterslides down and jumping from 20+ feet platforms into the river, but it was totally worth it! An amazing once in a lifetime experience!

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
St. Thomas is beautiful! We did not do an excursion, and instead took a taxi to Coki Beach. It was a little crowded, but very pretty with plenty of food and drinks. I hear Magens Bay and Sapphire Beach are nice, too. Maybe next time.

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

5 out of 5
We took a sunrise snorkeling excursion to the Virgin Gorda Baths. It was gorgeous and very fun. I wish we would have had more time there, but overall it was a great experience! The shopping at the port is not the greatest.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

5 out of 5
We tried to get jet skis, but they were all booked. It was still nice to hang out in the beach and eat some fish tacos and drink some cold drinks. The water is crystal clear and beautiful. Again, we would have liked more time to spend on the island. The tendering boats to get to and from the ship took up a lot of time. It would be nice if they would build an actual port to make getting on and off the island quicker.

Disembarkation

We signed up for the Everglades by Airboat excursion, which was perfect to give us a fun day of seeing alligators and then a bus ride to the airport.
