Disappointing, disrespectful, insulting treatment. Will not cruise the Encore again.

The food was delicious and readily available, although making reservations to take advantage of our fine dining certificate was impossible. We finally just walked into the Tepenyaki. Grill and they accommodated us. The service and staff in this restaurant was fantastic and entertaining.

This venue was remarkable! The staff was enthusiastic, entertaining and very pleasant. The food was delicious. We could not make a reservation at any time on board to redeem our fine diniing certificate that came with our purchase of the cruise do we just tried to be sat in person. They accommodated us gladly.
Onboard Activities

This is where a good share of our disappointment began. My husband and I did not take advantage of activities. Our goal was to simply relax, play yahtzee, walk around and enjoy down time together but we're charged for a shore excursion we did not take, race track use (X3) that we did not do and 2 meal packages we did not purchase. We were treated horribly by guest services when I tried to dispute these charges. We were never given a break down of charges or a receipt but were charged quite a bit after disembarking.
Entertainment

The music was wonderful. Infact there was one band in particular that went beyond what would ever be required and sadly I can not remember the name of them. My 12 year old grandson is a self taught drummer with pretty sever ADHD. The drums help him focus and relax. While we were on Stirrup Cay they played and allowed Gracen to play with them. So grateful to them. Love the on deck movies in the evening. Very relaxing and enjoyable.

My son and daughter entertained their kids so I have no idea what they participated in.
Service and Staff

Service, other than the Tepenyaki Grill, was horrible. We spent more time being ignored by wait staff and getting our own drinks than anything else. It was frustrating. Our experience with guest services had already been explained.
Ship Quality

The ship itself was beautiful and clean and kept up on. The crew was quick to mind any spills and breakage and to keep up on common areas and restrooms.
Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin itself was fine. The mirror's all hand greasy large whole handprints on them and the screen on the phone was broken. 2 days into our cruise we got a visit from the head of housekeeping alerting us to the fact that they were infact charging us $154 to replace the phone that was broken upon our arrival. AGAIN we were treated as though we were liars and regardless of anything we said were going to be charged. We did eventually get it removed from our bill, but then began being charged for services we did not purchase. By this time I was angry, insulted and in no way enjoying my vacation.
Disembarking was something I could not do fast enough! I was beyond done with this ship. I felt as though this amazing vacation with my family had ,at best, been crapped on. This had been my 3rd Norwegian cruise and I had bragged and spoke very highly of our past experiences with them and NONE of those experiences were had on this trip. I will, and at this point neither will my family, never sail on the Encore again!! I was really hoping we would enjoy this ship as much as the Sun and Bliss, but we most assuredly did not.
I’ve only ever had minor issues with charges with NCL and they were great about it and sorted it really quickly. The way you were treated is unacceptable. I’ve seen your other favourable reviews and comments about NCL so it’s a shame you’ve had this poor experience.
I didn’t know crew could be that rude ! Last time I cruised there was a charge which was not ours, and the staff sorted it very quickly and nicely ! Did you fill a complaint form ?
