The change in our itinerary a bit disappointing, however not unexpected. We dropped Puerto Plata DR and picked up Nassau Bahamas. Being a pandemic cruise experience were at 45% passenger capacity with some I wouldn't say many children.
The crew was happy to be there, most passengers were pleasant and happy to be there. It was great time.
Reservations were flexible, elevators were not hard to come by and I made both shows (kinky boots & Choir of Man) with no problems, ther were seats amiable in both showings I saw.
I loved listening to the Tempature band out of Jamaica on the deck, on GSC and in the atrium, they played oldies but goodies, reggae, pop, Motown and R&B. They were an absolute highlight of the cruise for me.
I had a great time and can't wait to cruise NCL again.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
I booked an early appointment, and considering that we are at less then 45% passenger capacity it wasn't necessary. So after my appointment there was a bit of waiting. No fault of NCL, the process was very smooth.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Food was good, I mostly enjoyed the Local, Cagneys and Ocean Blue.
The drinks were great, If you have the drink package and think the drinks are a bit weak ask for a shot on the side and toughen that bad boy up! π
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
The pool deck was not bad at all we due to lower capacity. The pool chair hogs were still in full effect. They didn't bother me much as I hung out at the bar mostly. The the thermal spa was great and I'd say we'll worth the week pass although I would have like the option to buy it ahead of the cruise as it was 75 bucks more on the first day of the cruise.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The Tempature band, were a highlight of this cruise for me. They played old and new favorites. Reggae, R&B, Motown...oh when they did Exhale (shoop) by Whitney Houston and Purple Rain by Prince...took me all the way out. Check them out on the pool deck or in the atrium if you have the chance.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The crew on this ship were the most friendly crusie ship crew I have encountered. I loved my Jr stateroom steward. I found my favorite bar, bartender eating spot the first day.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
My stateroom steward was great also I seen so many house keeping staff hard at work cleaning and sanitizing. Thr bar and Cafe was always looking good and was well looked after.
Most passengers were good about "washy washy" I did see one lady and her kids declined because "they just showered" π€ ....interesting.
Nice big ship, good layout and flow. I liked it a lot.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The cabin was great the bathroom was larger and I really enjoyed the shower. There were more then enough outlets and USB ports. I did use an extension cord to be able to charge my phone while I was on the balcony or a stronger charge while in the bed (wasn't really necessary tho)
Ship tip
Learn the ship early and the fishes on the carpet swim towards the front of the ship.
Lovely cruise owned island, enough to do and love that the drink package can be used there.
Only downside for me was that we got there early as our itinerary was amended and was on thr Island very early and the water was very cold. Didn't get to enjoy the water much but the beach was very nice and clean enjoyable.
Love that the Tempature band came over and preformed for us. Set things off right.
The port is cool, loved the dj on the port, a bit of shopping but it just feels like you're downtown...
If you're going to Sapphire Beach take a taxi, the excursion is overpriced and you can't leave when you want to. Nice beach tho...I'll have to check out another next time to compare.
Beautiful Island, first port that I am interested in going back to spend more time there.
The beach break excursion took us to Cane Garden Bay Beach. It was beautiful and the hilly ride to the beach was enjoyable for me and well as the views we were able to take in. I look forward to visiting again.
Our ship was only at 45% passenger capacity so to say we were spoiled is an understatement. I left my stateroom at 715 for self assist...through customs by 725 is at the airport before 8am for a 10am flight.
The process was easy, smooth and no fuss at all. I have never been off a ship so fast.
