Review summary

This was our 4th Norwegian cruise. We love the freestyle dining, casual atmosphere, food, and variety of activities available. We already put down a deposit for our next one.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was very smooth. Arrived at the port about 11:30 am, completed the pre boarding process and was on the ship by 12:30.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Great breakfast at the buffet. Manhattan room was wonderful—both service and food, and specialty dining, Cagney, and Teppanyaki were fantastic

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Lots going on all the time

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Encore theatre shows were wonderful. Entertainment in public areas was enjoyable

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Friendly, efficient, couldn’t be more helpful

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
New ship. Very similar in design to the “Getaway and Escape”. Very clean and well maintained. No problems with anything.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Comfortable, clean, no problems

Ship tip

Do it!!!! Go with the flow and take advantage of of all the ship has to offer. Reserve your lounge chairs early, especially during full days at sea when nobody leaves the ship. Although they say that they will remove personal belongings from any chair left vacant for more than 15 minutes, I never saw it happen.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

Got to Miami a day early and spent the afternoon at the Bayside Marketplace. A fun place right on Biscayne bay. Didn’t do an excursion.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Did not leave the ship

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Island tour was very enjoyable. No need to reserve ahead of time. We just got off the ship and onto a 1/2 day tour. Cost was $25 p/p, much cheaper than pre booking.

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

4x4 tour was great. Our guide did an excellent job and was super informative. The ride up an down the mountains is an adventure and the views & photo stops we’re fantastic. We spent about 2 hours at a nice beach before going back to the ship. 2 lounge chairs & umbrella $25.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We were off the ship around 8:00 am. Took our own luggage rather than having it picked up. The earlier you disembark the quicker it is. Very efficient including passing thru customs.
