The Encore is a great ship and the crew is fantastic. However, I would not cuise it again unless my kids are with me because all the sun decks have disappeared to make room for activities ( racetrack, laser tag,...)
Embarkation
5 out of 5
the embarkation went smoothly. The process was quick and it took hardly no time before we were onboard
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food is FANTASTIC! whether at the buffet, dining room or specialty restaurant, the meals are amazing. One of the reason I cruise with NCL
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Plenty of activities onboard. Too bad you have to pay for them, but if you know in advance you can plan for it. We travelled with 2 young adults (18 & 20 yo) and they tried it all : virtual reality games were awesome, laser tag (both during the day and at night) was a lot of fun, the racetrack was fun for them and as a spectator you can “shoot “ them as they zoom in front of you- fun for all!
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We saw 2 shows : Kinky Boots and Choir of man. Both were absolutely fantastic! Would see them again! The comedy shows were also a lot of fun.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All the staff we met was great; from our steward to the greeter in the buffet, everyone was so friendly and eager to help
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The Encore is a great ship. However, it is too bad that the pool deck has been reduced to such a small area - it’s still quite large but not enough to accommodate everyone making it a race to get a chair in the morning. It is the first time I cruise and feel this way. Don’t like that. The observation lounge is fabulous!
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We stayed in a standard balcony room. Good size, very clean ( ship in brand new!). Bed were so comfy!
Ship tip
They have a policy for the chairs around the pool : if a chair has not been used for 15 min and there is stuff on it, you can request the stuff be taken away. Do not hesitate to ask the crew to do it. We have!!
Too bad, there were 2 earthquakes the morning we were getting to Porto Rico so there was no power in the port area. A lot of the stuff was closed (and we were there at night)
