Review summary

This was our first cruise and it exceeded expectations. The ship was impeccably clean, the staff friendly and knowledgeable, the activities varied, and the ports of call interesting. We will definately be cruising again.

Belize City, Belize

We took the Wildlife Adventure tour and this was just wonderful. After a 2 hour boat ride on the river, we had a great lunch of chicken, beans and rice before getting on a bus for our visit to the Belize Zoo. The zoo was impressive and our guide for the day was friendly, knowledgeable and knew the answers to all of our questions. He even gave us advice about the safe places to visit in Belize City. The only drawback was that the boat was open (no roof) and we got soaked when it rained. However, being that it was warm we all dried pretty fast. Everyone seemed to take it in stride and we viewed it as an adventure.

The Atlantis Submarine was a great experience for those that are unable to snorkle or scuba. It is a great way to see the coral reef and fish. Shopping was much more expensive than expected so we didn't buy much - just a few trinkets for my neice.

Our trip to Chitzen Itza was wonderful. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly. The only thing substandard on this excursion was the box lunch provided by NCL. I would suggest that you order a good sandwich from room service the night before to take on the trip with you.

Pros: I like the freestyle dining experience. It's very convenient to eat when you are hungry and not at a certain time that may be earlier or later than you'd like.

Cons: I wish times in port were longer.

Recommends Norwegian Dream? Yes!
