Overall I probably won’t sail with Norwegian again as they have inflated the prices too much and have become an old clientele cruise. This was our 8 th Cruise.
Embarkation

Line was extremely long and it took about an hour to get thru the process
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Food and drinks (especially the food in the specialty restaurants) were very good to excellent. The buffet was more than adequate. Main complaint.....drink prices are off the chart ridiculous. A bucket of beer( 5 beers with 1 free was 43.00 which we went to the bar to get and they charged a 6.50 service fee( for what?) The guacamole in the Los Lobos Mexican canteen was the best I’ve ever had. Another thing that needs changed, when you purchase drinks they put on service charges and then the bar staff expects even more of a tip or they seem irritated.
Aqua Main Dining Room

Good food and good service
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Very nice fitness center. Although they used to have free classes like Pilates and biking etc but now they charge for all those. This was also the oldest group of individuals that I’ve cruised with. Felt like being in a nursing home. Many of the activities were probably set due to that. Most of the shows were excellent especially the one with Ashley Amber and the husband and wife duo( can’t remember the acts name)

Most very good...not previous paragraph
Service and Staff

The room stewards are awesome. The wait staff is excellent everywhere except in the buffet in which many are or very personable
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Even though it was recently redone there are several things that need addressed, especially the sewer fumes that we felt with the last three days of our 11 day trip.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Clean and presentable although the mattress was not as good as I formerly remember
Definitely would go back there. Very clean, people are awesome, no one bothers you like Jamaica and a lot to do. Do a resortforaday thing. It was awesome
Liked this port as well. Did a beer brewery tour and a rum distillery and then the beach. This was a ton of fun and would highly recommend. Friendly people as well
I always appreciate an honest review. I'm curious, which floors smelled like sewage? I've noticed a similar odor on my two most recent cruises.
Also, why are previous replies concerned about whether or not you drink $89 a day? YOU personally felt nickeled and dimed. I get it, and thanks for your personal opinions. That helps many of us a lot.
I don't understand your complaint. NCL offers the drink package as a perk when you book. If you plan to drink on the cruise it's the only way to go. Yes, you have to pay taxes and service fees on the package but $100 or so beats what you would pay buying each drink individually on the ship. When you compare prices on cruises between different cruise lines NCL is on par with the rest of them. You don't get perks on the other cruise lines like you do NCL. You book your cabin and if you want a drink package it's another $59 to $89 a day. I think you need to research more before you book a trip so you can make better choices to suit what you want and expect on your trip.
