Review summary

We enjoyed our time on this cruise. We don't travel often, so just getting away is very refreshing. Not sure I'd pick Norwegian again - depends on where the cruise is.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Pretty smooth - easy to find luggage. We tried to sign up for a tour of Boston that ended at the airport, but the tour was full. We were told they were going to schedule another bus, and we would be able to get on that, but they didn't. That was disappointing.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Buffet was OK - same every day. The specialty restaurants were also OK - good, but not special. The main dining was the same; adequate, but not spectacular.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Loved the music.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Friendly staff.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
I was able to get around the ship just fine. I don't gamble, and usually I have to walk through the casino to get anywhere on a cruise ship, but I never even found the casino on this ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Small - not even a chair to sit on. The bed was two twins pushed together, that came apart at night. It would have been far better to have a King topper, or a strap that kept mattresses from drifting during the night. Made for uncomfortable sleep.

Ports of call

Quebec City, Quebec

5 out of 5
Beautiful city - easy to get around and see what we wanted to.

Sydney, Nova Scotia

3 out of 5
We didn't do too much here, but the waterfront was very nice to walk.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

4 out of 5
Had a great tour of the city and Peggy's Cove. Lovely.

Saint John, New Brunswick

3 out of 5
We did a walking tour that was a bit disappointing. Not that much history, guide repeated himself a lot. Could have been better.

Bar Harbor, Maine

5 out of 5
Very cute town - loved the shopping and the bus tour of Acadia National Park.

Boston, Massachusetts

3 out of 5
We were able to stow our luggage at the airport and take an uber downtown to walk part of the Freedom Trail. It was a bit of a hassle, and would have been better if the cruise line had provided something like that. The Freedom Trail itself was wonderful.

What did you not like about Norwegian? I've cruised Norwegian and Royal Caribbean. They both have things I like and things I don't like, but nothing that would make me say I won't cruise them again.
