Review summary

The favorite part of the cruise was being able to spend time with my adult children. Low marks for the surprises on when taxes are going to be charged and when not. The web site is too vague on this topic. Also, the overall service has gone down since the institution of mandatory tips. Let a note for the hotel manager and he did not respond while we were on the cruise and has yet to respond as of today, March 22, 2017.

When we picked this cabin it showed that there were no berths in the room. When we got to the room we were disappointed to find there was a pull down berth.

The "Daily Service Charge" is also used for the hundreds of staff that you don't see or think to tip (MDR beyond your waiter such as busboys, dishwashers; buffet staff; pool attendants; laundry workers; slide attendents; etc)...... NCL uses the DSC plus salary to compensate these staff so just be sensitive if you choose to personally identify those "more deserving"

Next time you can go to customer service and have the. Remove the auto gratuities and request envelopes for separate gratuities to be used for the room people and dining room people. Last time we went we used the sit down dining room once. And didn't feel we should be tipping a service we didn't use so we sent the tip to places more deserving for our needs

I agree about spending time with family. we took my adult son and grandson in a cruise in Alaska and I really appreciate the quality time I was able to spend with my son.
