A wonderful week on the beautiful, recently refurbished Norwegian Dawn!!

Sail Date: September 23, 2016

Reviewed: 2 months ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Suite

This was our third cruise on the Dawn.  We returned mainly to see Jose and Patti's wonderful entertainment nightly in the beautiful atrium.  The food was excellent and the service throughout the ship outstanding.  No wonder the Dawn was recently named Number One in Entertainment and Service of all Norwegian Cruise Line's ships!

Cabin / Stateroom
Nice arrangement. The butler and the cabin steward were very attentive.
Embarkation and Disembarkation
Both were managed beautifully and with ease
Ship Quality
Nice size ship. It has recently been refurbished and upgraded to compete with the newer ships in the fleet.
Destinations and Excursions
Only took one excursion: Hop on/Hop off bus in Halifax.
Onboard Activities
Didn't participate in a lot but enjoyed what we did
Entertainment
Jose and Patti in the Atrium nightly were are reason for returning to the Dawn....wonderful, personable entertainers. There were other enjoyable entertainers in the atrium and the Stardust Theater.
Service and Staff Outstanding service overall. Particularly Roel, concierge; Szabina, hostess Moderno/Aqua; Roshith, waiter Cagney's; Daniel, bartender Java cafe bar
Food and Dining
outstanding food food and service.
Boston, Massachusetts
Portland, Maine
Halifax, Nova Scotia
Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island
Gaspe, Quebec
La Baie, Quebec
How nice that the townspeople greeted the ship with entertainment on the pier! Best welcome to any port I've ever seen!
Quebec City, Quebec
Don't miss touring this beautiful, historic French Canadian city!!

Tip

I like this size ship. Entertainment is a big part of our enjoyment. And you don't get that on the smaller ships. The perks of a suite include specialty dining areas giving you the feel of a smaller ship while still having the advantages of a larger one.
