Review summary

The ship was clean and well staffed. Inboard stateroom was larger than expected and comfortable. Had a great time. Leaving from NYC easy and helped to make the trip. On the could be better side -- Smoking allowed in all BARS and open deck areas. For larger bars, they have a non-smoking designated area but guests do not follow posted signs and crew do not enforce rules. Same is true outside - no separation and with many rude people that smoked everywhere. On our previous cruise on the SPIRIT, they only allowed smoking in one smoking BAR. Their Main Lounge, Galaxy of the Stars was smoke free - expected same on this DAWN cruise but not so.

While buffet area food choices had a wide selection, most buffet food was more institutional quality. That said specialty restaurants -food was excellent in both cover charge and free restaurants. Cagney's was the best.

Inner stateroom was larger than expected from other cruise lines. Met expectations - bathroom big enough and beds comfortable -- if you have back problems ask for egg-crate cushion- they have them and they work. You only spend a little time in your stateroom to sleep, wash, and change anyway--

Another catamaran tour for us, great snorkeling and RUM. Again this was a motor-sail and not a TRUE SAIL.

Took Fury catamaran tour - great time and great snorkeling. However, as a sailor, I expected a TRUE sail. Instead this cruise is a "motor-sail". Would suggest tour description be expanded to reflect this.

Dunns River Falls -- most fun we have had in a long time. Tour description implies the need for sturdy shoes that can get wet. I assumed we would walk along a trail near the falls. Instead - everyone gets in the water and climbs the falls. EVERYTHING gets wet. STILL Fun and exhilarating! Tour description should explain scope of wetness better and the fact changing areas are present. shopping- extremes only -- T-shirt or high end jewelry - nothing in the middle

NCL tour Altun Ha ruins fantastic. Hit of the trip. Belize city is a just starting in the tourism business, poverty and undelevoped nature of this area is evident. River tour was great.

Rated average in order to be allowed to comment --- this was a planned tender port of call and seas were too rough to allow departure. Make sure you understand the ports that are planned for docking and those that are planned for tendering.

Best Island of the Trip. Very clean. Pirate tour was fun but more a kid's activity. Shopping was either T-Shirts or expensive jewelry, nothing in between.
