Cruising without clothes!

Room Type: Oceanview

Overall very impressed. I worked on the QE2 so I have high standards with regards to cruising.Apart from the food, tasting like it was prepared the day before and then warmed up everything was good especially the choice of entertainment and quality of shows. The itenary was also varied although excursions all seemed to be the same in each port ie tubing/canope lines/horse riding/snorkelling.
Because of the freesstyle dining element the service lacks a personal touch and staff seem to be complacent as they are gauranteed their tips at the end of cruise,so dont always go the extra yard or seem interested in doing so.

Pros: Entertainment

Cons: Food tasting mass produced

Recommends Norwegian Dawn? Yes!

Food and Dining
Choice of restaurants and food good, but familarity can cause comtempt after 11 days cruising.Freestyle dining is a great element and you are not dictated by meal times like alot of ships so eat when you feel like!
Service and Staff
As mentioned, with freestyle dining this element was non existant, yes staff smiled but were in no rush to please or bend over backwards.
Ship Quality
Because the ship is relatively new it has been kept well and is spotlessly maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom
For a oceanview cabin everything was great, the bed was amazingly comfortable and the stateroom staff were thorough.
Entertainment
Cannot be faulted of high standard and to suit all tastes.Great job by cruise staff.
George Town, Grand Cayman
Very modern port, with shopping being the highlight ie Duty free goods.
Don't Miss: Atlantis Submarine
Cozumel, Mexico
Great port but Chankanaab marine park was a waste of money $16 to sit on a manmade beach with rocks.Great for snorkelling though.
Don't Miss: Swim with dolphins
Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras
I went scuba diving at west end, this beach was fantastic with all facilities.
Don't Miss: Scuba diving
Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Was hustled every where we went.Taxis in port charged $90 for round trip of 20 miles.Went rafting on river for 15 mins for $50 spent most time sitting on land.Dunns River falls was fantastic lots of people but worth the walk up.People hastled us to buy souvenirs/even food it was all too much.People rude and arrogant especially if you said no and probably making more money than you and me!
Don't Miss: Organize shore excursion through ship so you are not bothered.
Belize City, Belize
People friendly and toured the island including jungle (watch for mosquitos) then cave tubing was amazing and great value for money
Don't Miss: Cave Tubing
