We are giving NCL another shot on spring break with Joy and if the food isn’t any better we will be looking back to Royal

Worst experience ever at Cagney's we had to send our prime rib and 5oz filet mignon back 1) the prime rib was BURNT and my husband could hardly chew it 2) I ordered my filet medium and it came well down to the point I could barely cut into it with my steak knife so they took them both back and within 5 mins we had new ones cooked the exact same way as the first time and the manger lady said it was just bad lighting that they are fine now. Main dining rooms were ok nothing to write home about. Buffet was basic too. I wish they had more dessert options like Royal does. Not a single dish we had including soups came out hot/fresh they warmest anything ever was room temperature unless you got something at the buffet RIGHT when they took it off the grill
Onboard Activities

Pools were ok a little small for as many people that were on there for summer time. The ropes course was only open for 3 hours at a time and we waiting in line for two and a half and didn’t even get to finish the course before they made us get off because they blocked the whole second side and the next time they were open was on the next port day while we were off the ship and closed before we came back so that was a bummer.
Entertainment

The entertainment was great when it was happening but all of the good ones seemed to be at the same time so you couldn’t make it to everything

He loved it even though he said he didn’t (only because he wanted to be with us 100% of the time) I wish they had more hours because there were so many things that were adult only performances that we couldn’t go to because of pick up times or it wasn’t open or we had to pay for the after hours
Service and Staff

Wait staff only had a couple of great people everyone else forgot about us or wasn’t kind and seemed to be mad at the world. Star of the whole trip though was our Room Steward Umar!!!!! He made my son the most amazing towel animals and was so very very kind we LOVED HIM!!!! He deserves a raise!!!

I didn’t care for the lay out personally my husband was very happy with it but I didn’t feel it flowed well it seemed very closed off and dark for some reason. Everything seemed to be clean and well maintained
Cabin / Stateroom

We were very happy with our cabin we never had any major issues they had a hanger thing that was loose in the wall but it never fell and only some of the safe buttons actually worked. The light in the bathroom had to be replaced right when we got there which took all of two Seconds and we found what we called a secret light and it worked most of the time but then also died on us
Ship tip
Even though it’s your time dining doesn’t mean you will actually get to eat where you want we tried to go to the noodle place and never could get in when we were available to and the pub was packed 95% of the time so there was almost always await
This was the most amazing port we have ever traveled to!!!!!! We didn’t do anything but stay a port in the free pools and play free games it was absolutely paradise for me
Cruises are now packed year-round, and seems to have gained even more popularity after re-opening post Covid. NCL continues building mega size ships w/ capacity to support over 4600 + cruisers, while maintaining small-capacity pools. Makes no sense. Sorry about the hiccups during this experience.
