Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was exceptional EVERYWHERE we ate on the ship! The Haven Restaurant, Main Dining Rooms (Savor and Taste), O'Sheehan's, Cagney's Steakhouse, Teppanyaki, La Cucina as well as our room service meals. The Ultimate Beverage Package ensured that the drinks flowed smoothly and without much interruptions.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Granted, on a fourteen (14) day cruise the onboard activities tend to be very much alike but the cruise staff still did a wonderful job with the daily activities and there was plenty of outdoor activities as well once we hit the Caribbean and the weather turned warmer.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The only Broadway style show currently onboard is SIX. Kinky Boots which was canceled January 2023 has yet to be replaced, so that was a little disappointing. The live music around the ship was plentiful and the bands and singers were very good.

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Exceptional Service by the ENTIRE CREW and STAFF onboard the Breakaway. They truly are some of the finest workers at sea amongst all the cruise lines.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was in ship shape

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our room attendant, Wilbert, did an amazing job keeping the room clean. Our butler, Cassius, was extremely attentive to all of our requests and made daily contact with us. The balcony was on the smaller side as we were directly in the front of the ship but the views out the front bedroom window were spectacular as we had the same views as the bridge.

Ship tip

Take time to explore the ship and find your own little quiet spots among all the festivities.

Ports of call

New York, New York

5 out of 5
Went to the 9/11 Memorial.

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic Did not visit port

Decided to stay aboard the ship and enjoy The Haven Compound.

Oranjestad, Aruba

5 out of 5
One of our favorite ports to visit. Did a catamaran snorkeling excursion.

Willemstad, Curacao

5 out of 5
Explored the port on our own taking in all the sites and sounds and delicious food.

New Orleans, Louisiana

5 out of 5
Did a wonderful city site seeing excursion prior to airport drop-off. Our guide was exceptionally well informed and knowledgeable about her City and very pleasant. The powdered sugar covered beignets and coffee were delicious.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Fast and Fluid. We were escorted off the ship, through immigration, and onto our busses.
