We were given a $300 onboard credit because of changes in itinerary and missing two ports. We find out on last day before disembarkation that it cannot be used for gratuities. This was our 11th Norwegian cruise and this has never happened before. I then had to make sure I had $300 in onboard purchases or loose it! I spent several hours in line because they didn’t have proper customer service staffing to handle all the complaints this was causing everyone. So I spent the money, buying things I really didn’t need, and next morning it still wasn’t right on their records. Another trip to the onboard credit desk (day of disembarkation) 45 minutes in line and they finally corrected it. Horrible way to spend your last day on the ship. I did complain once we were home and just received their apologies it happened.
Embarkation

Airfare was arranged for us by Norwegian. Everything was very well organized from flight to embarkation.

Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
The only onboard activity we participated in was Progressive Trivia. The cruise director Jake was in charge and it was the best ongoing Trivia we have ever played.
Entertainment

We had several favorites. Hard to get in to some like Syd Normans. Wish that was in bigger venue. Howl at the Moon was not good because of the male singer.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Waiters, room Steward, Bartenders; excellent. Customer Service desk, especially the on board credit desk was horrible!!

We did a minimum bid on an upgrade to a club balcony and received it! Very excited. We got a Club Balcony Suite with larger balcony. Loved it. Highlight of our trip.
We did a Resort for a Day at a Marriott property. Well worth the money. We were picked up and delivered back to the port. Also received a food/drink credit.
Loved the excursion we took which consisted of bus ride, to train, to cruise river on a pontoon. Our guide was excellent and made sure we stopped to view monkeys, sloths, and birds.
The only thing good about this excursion was transportation to the airport. We were driven around New Orleans on a charter bus to see the sites. Problem was, no working microphone on the bus. We couldn’t hear anything the tour guide was saying. And her standard line was “I’m doing the best I can “.
