Review summary

Fun trip with a lot of time to relax, though 4 ports back to back can be tiring if you do a lot of excursions. As someone with only one prior cruise that had been booked and managed by a family member, I was not aware of the need to book excursions and restaurants well in advance. I lost out on a few opportunities due to that. Still in all, I would recommend this cruise to anyone who needs a week-long break to refresh and enjoy some island time. Recommend booking at some time other than November. Lots of rain and not as much sun as there could have been at another time of year. NCL has terrific staff who will take great care of you!

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Completely disorganized. No signage showing where to go. Almost 1 1/2 hrs from arrival at terminal to getting on board the ship. The one thing that made the experience tolerable is that employees in the security area were very nice.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Did not dine at the buffet for dinner, but enjoyed the selections at breakfast and lunch. Favorite dinner was at Ocean Blue, followed by Cagney's, La Cucina, Teppanyaki, and the Manhattan Room.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Enjoyed basketball & bowling in O'Sheehans, gym, jogging track, Spice H20, and casino craps table. Morning trivia in the Atrium was also fun.

Entertainment

Did not watch any shows.

Children's Programs

No kids.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff are always friendly and attentive. Standouts are morning staff at the Atrium bar, Shakers bar, evening casino craps dealers.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Great-sized cabin for two people. Balcony is small, but comfortable.

Ship tip

Read all the reviews you can prior to going, especially if you are new to cruising.

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana Did not visit port

I live there.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico Did not visit port

We arrived rather late in port due to a medical emergency on the first night and a squall on first day at sea. Our beach and snorkel excursion was canceled so we stayed on board.

Harvest Caye, Belize

Favorite port, by far. Loved the ease of having beach access right off the ship. Well-run and well-maintained with friendly staff. Hubby did the parasailing and loved it.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

4 out of 5
Beautiful area and a lot different from the other stops. Would have done a beach excursion but only the one with monkeys was available. (Not a fan of monkeys!)

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
All of the excursions we'd wanted were booked up, so we only visited this port for a little looking around and shopping.

Disembarkation

Extremely disorganized. A crush of people everywhere. No signage or staff to help coordinate or to keep the line moving. Please, please put up some kind of temp barrier to keep people (especially kids and teens) from plopping down in casino chairs, messing with the slot machine buttons, and attempting to charge their phones. It REALLY slows things down.

Thank you for the review. Actually I think November is a pretty good time to go there. It's after hurricane season, still pretty warm, not too humid, average rainfall. Maybe March or April would be better. It can rain anytime of year there.
