Review summary

With all of NCL emails and on-line reservations, etc. it made the time prior to sailing very stressful. Turns out you really don't need so many different dinner reservations and some tours ran too late into the evening hours. My husband injured himself on a private tour. I didn't find the staff on the ship very helpful at all when we were trying to get ice to treat the injury. Medical wasn't much of a help either. I did contract Covid two days after the cruise.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
It all went very smooth.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The dining rooms were very nice and efficient. We only attended two specialty restaurants but both were very nice. LeBistro is top notch!!! The buffet should have more food options after 9pm. One night we arrived late from an excursion and didn't get dinner. There was not much on the buffet.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
I didn't participate in too many activities. I did attend bingo. I thought it was rather expensive for three games.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
I did enjoy the comedians and "Broadway" shows in the theater. At this time with Covid, I thought the "clubs" that had entertainment in the evenings were too crowded to attend.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Most of the waiters were attentive and others had things on their mind. It was difficult to reach our room steward. My husband sprained his ankle and we waited and waited for a bucket of ice for him to ice the ankle. Didn't get it until the next day. It was very frustrating. We even game our room steward a tip before we sailed away.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We thought our cabin was perfect and all we expected. Perfect location for us as well.

Ship tip

Don't fret over dinner reservations. Don't overdress!!! It's a very casual atmosphere.

Ports of call

Newport, Rhode Island

5 out of 5
Took free trolley to cliff walks and toured a mansion. (On our own)

Portland, Maine

3 out of 5
We did an excursion through the ship. The best of Portland and Kennebunkport. Loved Kennebunkport but got there too late. All of the shops were closed by the time we arrived. The town of Portland itself is just okay.

Bar Harbor, Maine

5 out of 5
Loved Bar Harbor Maine. It's beautiful. Did a private excursion to Acadia National Park.

Saint John, New Brunswick

5 out of 5
Saint John itself is okay but we did a private tour of Bay of Fundy. It was a beautiful place and something to see.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

5 out of 5
Did an excursion through the ship. Arrived in port way too late and got to Peggy's Cove way to late. Everything was closed and we also had to cut the Best of Halifax tours short due to time constraints. Traffic was terrible.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very smooth and organized.
