Review summary
Just did two prior cruises on Celebrity and MSC, and NCL Breakaway was a dissapointment. Only good thing I can say is that the food was pretty good in most restaurants and that only one night we had great service at the Manhattan with Jay Deniso and Mauriel Often. Aside from that, the service and the wait was unbearable. The Garden Cafe should be serving the food as Celebrity was doing. Everything needed reservations and all was taken as I believe they cramped up the ship with shortness of staff. No show variety whatsoever, Just The Six (not appropriate for children and very boring), and Burn the floor (same musical thing) Celebrity and MSC had terrific shows for all ages, acrobatics, magicians...etc!! The ship itself had a very bad distribution. Tiny pools. Everything in the pool areas looked cramped up. Even The Thalalasse Spa was crowded when I went to tour it the third day. Gladly, I did not purchase The Atlantis Excursion was cramped up as well and no one wearing a mask. Thankfully, my husband ended up with covid. The Mayan excursion full of mud and mosquitoes, and the Cozumel Beach Day had a beach that no one could get in. Full of algae I think Ill be cruising elsewhere bc NCL is nowhere in the future for me.
