We've been on 23 cruises with NCL. Getting tired of the nickel and diming, but still our favorite cruise line. Make sure you get the dining package and try the specialty restaurants. Treat the employees with kindness and respect -- they work so hard to make your vacation a great one.

Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Food was excellent -- better than our last few cruises. Buffet had a good selection of all kinds of healthy and tasty food. Ocean Blue was the best meal of the week, followed by La Cucina, Le Bistro and Cagneys. Service in those restaurants is impeccable.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
For the first time ever, we bought a pass to the thermal spa. Game changer! We loved it and will do it again.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
So many wonderful choices for entertainment on the Breakaway! "Six" was fantastic! I loved the diversity of the performers -- women of all shapes, sizes and colors. Jean-Pierre, the comedy magician, was hilarious. The "Howl at the Moon" performers were talented, funny and were so entertaining.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Cabin stewards and waiters provided exceptional service. The employees at Guest Services, Cruise Consultants and Shore Excursions were borderline rude. The limited hours of the Cruise Consultants and Shore Excursions desks made it very hard to get answers to questions.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Worst thing about the Breakaway is the cigarette smoke coming from the Casino. It permeates several floors in the atrium area and drifts into some of the restaurants. Please ban smoking in the Casino and keep it to a very limited outside area.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Large and spacious cabin and bathroom. Lots of storage in the bathroom and big shower. Lack of drawers in the cabin is puzzling, but shelves in the closet fulfilled that need.
Ship tip
The Breakaway is great with around 3,500 guests on board. After that, the ship feels too crowded. Avoid during holidays, school breaks and other very popular traveling times.
