All in all, for our first cruise, we can't recommend this ship enough. We are considering a cruise in the summer of '23 to the Mediterranean and the islands of Greece. The Breakaway has some tours through there, so we are looking into that. All in all, it was amazing.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The buffet was incredible! We also ate at Teppinaki (great show, okay food), La Cucina (Amazing!), and Cagney's (their signature steakhouse - OMG! Be sure to do this!). The food was fantastic.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We used the water slides (wow!), the thermal spa (so relaxing and I needed that), and the pool deck (noisy, but nice all the way around).
Entertainment
Did not attend any shows, but we heard they were great.
Children's Programs
No children with us
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
We had an amazing steward named Eddie. The bar staff, buffet staff, spa staff and the entire ship's staff in general were incredible.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Easy to navigate and fun to explore.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The stateroom was great. I only gave 4 stars because the bed left much to be desired as far as comfort. Otherwise, it was perfect.
Ship tip
It's a great ship and we are already looking forward to our next trip. All in all, the Breakaway was a delight.
Challenge to navigate the downtown streets of NO, but we managed. The parking we used at Fulton street was fantastic - they had security 24x7, cameras, and a shuttle back and forth to the port. Can't recommend enough.
Where do I even start? LOVED. This port was excellent, as well. We rode ATVs and that was incredible. The tour also included the Jade Caverns, which was really neat.
Again...fabulous! We rode horses (very small trail, but was fun regardless. My SO went on a snorkel trip, which I skipped and he loved it. I laid on the beach and relaxed. Again....amazing!
This port or isle belongs to Norwegian, so that was amazing to sit and enjoy a literal private port or beach. I have a sunburn to match my day. My SO snorkeled again and said it was fabulous.
This was incredible, as well! We had an amazing tour of the Chaccoban (sp) ruins, and the tour guide was local to the area, had a degree in history and was of Mayan descent. Seriously...what else could we ask for?
Welcome to the wonderful world of cruising. Appreciate your detailed review. I enjoy seeing cruising through the eyes of a first time cruiser because you see things that seem ordinary to me as unusual. Thanks for sharing your excitement. Glad you enjoyed your first cruise.
