Overall, this was a good cruise. We enjoyed the shows and the excursions. The crew was exactly what we’ve always had on NCL, incredibly friendly and helpful. We were able to talk to most of the department chiefs, including the Captain, at a meet and greet. Every one of them wanted our opinion, good or bad. Captain Candrlic was great! He was really sociable and happily answered a couple questions I had.
Embarkation

Embarkation was incredibly easy, just dropped our bags at the drop off point, parked, and breezed through check-in. Haven check-in is absolutely no fuss. One of the agents came to us, when we were filling out the health forms, asked our cabin number, and had almost everything done for us when we approached the counter, All she had to do was take our photos. It took less than 15 minutes to step on board from the entrance to security.

Food and Dining

Overall, really good. Cagney’s, Moderno, Margaritaville, and the Haven restaurants were top-notch! I had a long hair in a dish at the buffet and my wife had one in her dish at La Cucina. In both cases, the staff was very apologetic, but we refused replacements in both cases.
Onboard Activities

The fitness center was fantastic!! There were plenty of modern, well maintained machines. The Mandara Thermal Spa was awesome as well. Very clean and relaxing. The ropes course was a lot of fun!
Entertainment

We loved the shows! Six was incredible!! The singers were just WOW!!! Burn the Floor is always, for us, an incredible show! The DJs were pretty good, but they had a lot of weird/abrupt transitions.

We always have great service on board. Big kudos to our butler, Tracy!! She took great care of us and always had a big smile and great conversation!!
Ship Quality

The crew kept the ship very clean. We weren’t thrilled with the layout, it seemed cramped. This was our second cruise on a Breakaway class ship, the first was the Bliss. That probably had a lot to do with it as the newer ships have the improvements NCL learned from the earlier ships.
Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin was very comfy and just the right size for 2. Ryan, our steward, kept the cabin very clean and worked hard to learn our schedule so he wouldn’t disrupt us. He also had big smiles and cheery hellos for us every time he saw us!
The port is really well taken care of, just a bit cramped. It’s fine with only 1 ship in port, but 2 mega-ships make it crazy. We did the Norman Island snorkel and had a blast! The operator was very professional, yet kept the atmosphere fun and energetic!
Old San Juan is one of my favorite cities! The port is clean and well payed out. There were 3 megas and a RC Oasis class ship in port and it didn’t seem overly crowded. We did the Rum, Sun, and Salsa excursion and had a blast! Julia, our tour guide, was fun and knew her history!
Disembarkation was a piece of cake! Scan the keycard to get off, take a couple steps to a facial recognition scanner, and you’re done! 10 minutes from the cabin to my truck, we carry our luggage ourselves.
