It was windy and cold in FL when we left and it continued to follow us to the Bahamas causing us to skip the private island as it was. The crew was good, but we didn't think the restaurant staff or many of the passengers cared too much for the sanitary precautions necessary on a loaded ship, at least until the last couple of days when even the buffet was served to us by staff so the handles of the serving items would not get contaminated. (We believe it was because of the Princess Diamond situation with the coronavirus.) In any case, back in port our breakfast was not served to us. Restaurant meals were not as good, or varied as much as on our previous cruises. The elevators were large, available and intelligent and greatly appreciated.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
No problem, parked the car at Cruise N Park, took shuttle and checked in with no problem.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
All free restaurants had Identical menus each night. Some menu items were not properly described (loaded potato had small cube of cheese). Last day Buffet had sour milk in one container.
O'Sheehan's Neighborhood Bar and Grille
2 out of 5
Advertised prime rib, opened for dinner at 5, but rib only available by 5:30. Ordered medium got two thin slices including one end cut! It was not lean at all either. Service was slow and poor (one refill).
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Didn't use any but they were all open.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The Icelandic violinist was exciting to watch, as were the dancers, the magician and the singers. Shows were "sold out" and reservation system was a joke.
Children's Programs
No kids in party
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
All were good except the Washy/Washy staff was often disinterested and they were not too responsive to checking to find out if there was more sour milk on the serving line.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Our cabin was a short hallway away from the Aft elevators which never involved a long wait to get to the restaurants or activity decks. Everything was spotless and clean except the air in the Casino.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The Aft balcony was spacious for the 3 of us only the TV was annoying as it seemed to have stretched SDTV instead of HDTV signals making the writing hard to read on some channels. Our shower hose connection was loose and starting to break. Vacuum toilet flushed for about 5 seconds which seemed abnormal. We had a queen-size bed with a pull out single bed that converted to a couch. We had no problem storing all our luggage in the room. There is one location in the room with an electrical outlet and one shaver outlet in the bathroom.
Ship tip
Don't bother reserving anything but excursions. Just show up 1/2 hour early. Don't worry about taking processed foods off boat for consumption.
Park N Cruise dropped us off right at the terminal and we walked in, waited a few minutes for our group to be called and checked in quickly. Covered all the way. Then had lunch.
Nice beach and pool at the port but took long excursion to Monkey River, where we saw howler monkeys (about 1/4 mile away and crocks and boa about 10 feet and 3 feet away on the excursion.
Visited the Kahunlich Mayan site with a good guide who provided a lot of information as we traveled and walked through the site. The box lunch was insufficient since there was no place to buy food until coming back to the dock at the last minute. The port was expanding so direct access to our pier was blocked at the time as well.
The port was typical, but the visit to Tulum was so long didn't have a chance to see anything. The tour again was good, but the time was insufficient to visit it and eat any lunch while there. Arrived late but on time.
