First cruise I have ever taken. It was for our 30th anniversary. Don’t know why I waited 60 years to take a cruise. Next years cruise is already planned. The Breakaway was a nice ship. It never felt like we were cooped up with 3000 other people. If you wanted to be in the middle of a crowd you certainly could find places to have lots of people around. We found a couple of spots on board that at times we were the only 2 people around.
Embarkation

Being my first cruise ever it would have been nice to have a little more signage once transportation dropped you at the ship port. Walked to one end of the checkin port only to find out I needed to be at the other end to check in
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Food was great on board. The freestyle cruising was great. Not having to eat at specific times is great.
Onboard Activities

The breakaway theatre was great saw the musical Six, Rock through the decades and JP Parent a comedy magician. The comedy club was small and intimate which made it great. All seats were good
Entertainment

Walison Melo is a gifted pianist. We sat and listened to him at several locations on the ship. The games and contests in the atrium hosted by the Cruise director Paquito were lots of fun
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Staff and ship personnel were very courteous and helpful. Anytime we had a question they were quick to either answer our question or find the person who could answer our question

Cabin / Stateroom

We overpacked for the trip (lesson learned) the room was fine being an inside stateroom I wasn’t expecting tons of space. After all the main use of the room was to sleep and a place to keep our belongings
Took the Chochbean Mayan ruins and blue lagoon excursion. The ruins were interesting to explore and learn about. After the excursion visited a lagoon for lunch and relaxation.
Took the coastal highway and chocolate excursion. The beaches of the island are beautiful. The Mayan Chocolate Company tour was great. Probably the best excursion of the entire trip. Learning about the Melapina bee was amazing
The port is under construction adding an additional dock for more ships. We did the Gumbalimba wildlife park and beach excursion. The capuchin monkey’s and Macaws (flying rainbows as they were described) were beautiful
