Review summary

We will never cruise with Norwegian again. We cruised as a family with our 20, 16, and 14 year old. Not much for them to do especially with water activities. All of the hot tubs were adult only. Of the 2 pools, 1 was adult only and the other was basically a kiddie pool. We paid for 2 cabins and Norwegian didn’t even make an attempt at locating them near each other. Each was on the extreme opposite ends of the ship and on different floors. So not family friendly. When I kindly mentioned it the didn’t seem to care and then they blamed the travel agent. Our precious cruise which was on Royal Caribbean was exactly the opposite as they were super family friendly and placed our rooms next to each other. Anyhow, if looking for a more family friendly cruise line with kind and accommodating staff, I would look to Royal Caribbean and not Norwegian.

I’m looking to reserve this cabin you were in & wondered how big the balcony is… small w/ only 2 chairs or big enough for at least 1 lounger? Thank you, it’s very appreciated 😉

Thanks for sharing your cruise with us.

I never understand why people say there aren’t enough activities for children on these ships? There are 5 slides, a rock climbing wall, ropes course, sports deck, mini golf, ping pong, etc. I have a 12 year old son and he never signs up for the kids club and is never bored on these cruises. He’s not even heavy enough to go on some slides. This will be his 4th NCL cruise and no complaints from him.

I prefer Royal Caribbean to NCL or Carnival

Sorry you didn't have a good time. I am very cabin picky so I always choose my cabin and dont allow anyone else to choose. I guess hard lessons learned are tough. Better luck next time.

NCL is not at fault for your lack of research about the ship you were booked on. If you want or need specific activities then look for the cruise that offers them, and then book that cruise.

I have used both TA,s and direct with NCL and always pick our own cabins! This is your fault not NCL!!

It sounds like you booked a Guaranteed Cabin not sure if you booked directly with NCL or had a travel agent but either way that’s your fault in booking. Guaranteed Cabin is for people who don’t care where their room is located, and they are guaranteed a room on the ship at a discounted rate. If you’re sailing with children you should pay the higher amount and select rooms close to one another. No matter the cruise line select your own rooms.

Can't believe anyone would book a cruise without knowing exactly where their cabins are located. I guess this is why there are different cruise lines for different people.

Sail in The Haven.

You probably opted for the discount option of being assigned rooms that are not already chosen. Definitely the travel agent's fault. Assuming the TA did not tell you that would mean you would not be next to each other. You certainly can't expect the cruise line to kick somebody out if their room so you could get adjoining rooms. But ultimately you got to accept the blame, who schedules a cruise with your children in a separate cabin without knowing where their cabin would be located. Who just shows up hoping someone else would take care of that for them?
